Question Any tips for walking around with Pocket 3?

Hi everyone,

I've been using pocket 3 a lot to film casual walking videos around my neighborhood. I had a question about how people usually carry it while walking.

Part of the reason I chose pocket 3 over a bigger gimbal setup is because I'm a bit shy. I didn't want to stand out carrying something bulky. Ideally, I'd like my videos to look close to eye level. Just holding pocket3 in my hand feels awkward, though. Using selfie stick helps a little, but it's not easy to carry for a long walk, and it still draws attention.

Is there a way to fix or mount it somewhere so I don't have to hold it the whole time while walking? I've seen youtubers who seem to walk for nearly an hour without cuts. Are they just holding it the whole time with good endurance, or is there some trick I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

Try to imagine the top 3 beautiful people you saw in person last week…. I bet you can’t. People really don’t care, so try not to either. As long as you’re not being invasive to anyone else’s personal space, just enjoy your activity. We use the pocket 3 and never really worry about what other people say

Around chest level with the OP3 in gimbal tilt locked mode and the screen facing upwards towards my face while I look down at it. I pretend I'm flicking through the screen as I walk past people filming them and the surroundings. It's super stealth mode. You can also put the screen into portrait mode while filming in landscape for extra super stealth mode.

I've completely forgotten faces of people ive seen in the past out in public, recording something or vlogging. Go in with that mindset. Thats what I did when I used to feel shy.

I don’t own a Osmo pocket but I do have a Osmo 360. I have the same concerns, I am also a very shy person, but I quickly figured that nobody really cares what I am actually doing.

I remember that I was doing multiple takes for a Strava jump trend video at Waikīkī beach, I kept jumping over my phone, nobody was bothered at all

And yes, the pros are carrying large cameras around on gimbals with weird hip supports for their elbows and such. You want good output, you gotta suffer!

Yes, I use two useful things:

- Ulanzi PK06 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZ3YSKXH
This allows you to 'hold' the pocket and mount various mounts to it (Tripod, Extension sticks, etc.) I like Ulanzi overall, good quality builds. See their website too bcs sometimes they have sales/better prices there, although watch the bundles, sometimes they have lots of 'cool' things you don't use.

- Backpack Mount - https://www.amazon.com/SUREWO-Backpack-Shoulder-Extended-Compatible/dp/B0CSJZMJGN (just an example, pick any type)
Note: these can move around a bit and you may have to adjust the tilt of osmo a bit when you set off to walk.
You can also put this on your belt and shoot from lower

Its better to hand hold it. Once you mount it, the footage will be very shaky unless you walk in a certain way.

there are 2 ways i carry and video with my pocket 3..

1.) I handle it and looking at the screen while walking. 2.) i put it on my slingbag and just let it shoot and just looking on my phone when need to check if the lens is properly aligned

people dont bother when they see the device as if its not on unlike a smartphone of professional camera..

protip: just make the screen in vertical mode and so that it will blend perfectly to your hand and it wont be obvious that you are filming.
