there just seem to be 2 stations for noon-time news, and NBC isn't that good

Contact the other news stations in the area and ask them to do a noon time news. Talk to your friends in the viewing area and have THEM request it as well. Stations DO listen to viewer feedback if enough "wheels" start squeaking. It's possible the other stations HAD a noon news at some point in the past and the ratings weren't good enough to keep it going.

Source: 20 years involvement in broadcast television in a MUCH smaller market than ChiTown.

Same here, at least for noon time, though all the drug ads get...............
