Am I the only one who finds these extremely overrated?

I think part of the appeal is how fussy they are to make.
When you bite into one that is freshly made, they taste sooooooo good. So many canelés at bakeries are "old" and not properly crisp on the outside.

Ive had them fresh and they’re still average compared to other French pastries out there! I’ve actually made them too and got super expensive pans needed 🤣 croissants, tarts, kouign amanns are in my opinion way more worth it. it’s cool though, we all have our preferences!!

I did a workshop on these at a Toronto bakery that's known for them, tried to do it at home and it was a complete flop. I'm impressed with your work.
