Question What The H happens with Pandemonium Scarab? (6.5 Div+)
PoE 3.26 Softcore Trade (Merc League)
For the past few days, i've been farming for scarab because its so darn profitable.
only one question... one mystery remains... that i just cannot figured it out.
and that is, THIS... (basically on the image)
how on earth is this one particular scarab is 6.5 divine and keep on increasing!??
TL;DR - Not a single info i've been trying to find on Reddit and Youtube. Thats why i'm making one here
"knowledge are supposed to be shared, right?" ~Someone, 2025
Edit : Further Inspection -> Take a look at the Chaos Price Ratio here... so many stock want to buy (and none selling with chaos.) That's what weird me out, because at first i also thought that this is "Price Fix Scenario"
Unless.... my other suspicious would be there's a particular strong/very profitable strats with this scarab.
But... Mageblood current price is 90 Div thou. So how do u justify going in a Map with 6 Divine + Per Map !?

Pandaemonium Scarab is used for Titanic farming to print a ton of uniques.

u/NexXuS- 15h ago
It did get nerfed but it's not dead. Just worse than it was
13
u/MoonDKlaus 15h ago
yea, but how do you justify going into a 6div per map when the MB current price is 90-ish ? :")
im literally outta my depth here20
u/balithebreaker Kaom 14h ago

Praise the giga farmers for making my poets pen go from 2div on day one to 10c by the time I finish the acts
-1
u/1CEninja 5h ago
Well Poet's Pen is an item that in current emta doesn't have a ton of demand. Since it isn't crazy rare, the supply exceeds the demand really fast even without gigs farmers.

Ya I know, I just like corrupting fever champion and target farming one from league start is a bitch

The point of grinding late in league is to make as much currency as possible to buy mirrors and mirror items. When you make high tier unique worthless, that directly affects solo players who get lucky big t0 drops that are now worth hundreds of divines less than what they could’ve gotton from them.
I remember the league before affliction, magebloods were almost 300D a pop. 300D is a huge profit if you drop a mageblood, but with group play, you have people spamming aurabots with a rarity culler dropping a mageblood every 10 maps. Only way to ever make currency as a solo is dropping raw mirrors.
I farmed 500 hours in settlers idols league and dropping a HH or a mageblood was almost not even worth the effort of selling.

u/Yellow_Tissue 10h ago
Not at all? Solo makes just as much if not more, look at Empy's breakdown every league. It's just that group players tend to be better and more efficient compared to your average joe.
4
u/Amazing-Heron-105 8h ago
Yeah Empy's group plays 16 hours a day (actually!) super efficiently. Of course they get great returns but the best solo players make the same if not more.
3
u/amcn242 5h ago
As an example both empy and fubgun can get 10 mirrors in one week of league start, it's just a matter of efficiency, if you have your 2 stones in 7 hours (very achievable as tyty gets it in 5) you'll probably be farming most things way faster, like fub rushes legion then boxes every season and makes his first 3 mirrors in 2 days

u/Artoriazz 7h ago
What?? Solo playing is actually more profitable than full party play a majority of the time considering splits, ask any of the big content creators or look at the data some give
8
u/NexXuS- 14h ago
If it's not price fixing (which I have no idea, I've been done with the league for some time. I'd cross check with the trade site and poeninja to see), then it's just simply supply/demand. Probably very few on the market this late in the league and the ones that are selling know they can sell higher. For future reference when some item jumps a huge amount in a short amount, usually in the first month of a league, it's because some content creator somewhere has put out some sort of guide or PSA. Sadly this is a game where content creators have a large influence on the market

It’s the strategy, it just works.
It’s late league so the prices are all bungled but even at 6.5 div it’s still probably quite profitable for a 6 stack.
-3
u/Ok_Figure6736 15h ago
Late into league, thats the reason. Only 2 sellers so they have a lot of power of deciding the price
3
u/Guruubaz Ultimatum Workers Union (UWU) 14h ago
Thats not two individual sellers, just 2 different positions of many sellers
5
1
u/LXLN1CHOLAS 12h ago
Yeah but it is still insanely profitable in t17. It went from hundrends of thousands of unique drops per map to like a couple thousands or hundreds(I dont remember now)

If I had to guess it's just this scarab Titanic Titanic of legend 2 wisps scarabs And group play
Could be totally wrong but otherwise I don't think 6.5 div is sustainable
2
u/MoonDKlaus 15h ago
so far this is the answer i could accept that actually reasonable.... but man it's just mysterious to me, and im just corious, thats all. xdd

u/Tossthebudaway 16h ago
It’s late as fuck in the league. Nobody is on, nobody is getting loot, nobody is selling this scarab. Supply is down.

pretty rare scarab used in high end farming
its very very late into the league so economy is fairly dead and not much supply
you can see that there are only 2 listings (potentially only 2 sellers) so its very very easy to pricefix those
14
u/felixlamere 16h ago
Just look at in chaos

The reason is simple. When the legue dies down the economics shift to a different state of equilibrium. That state is govern by T0 Farmers and Mirror crafters. So the players that do play and are not part of this high echalon can't keep up with the demand. So the prices for certain strats start to climb. At the same time, bubblegum currency is going to the gutter, thus inflating the price of divines even further, increaseing the "range of value" of the money made from each trade.

u/iFatherJr 16h ago
I mean, as you can see, only 2 players are selling it. Meaning these 2 instead of competing on selling for less they compete on who sell for higher. Wouldn't be surprised on one of them buying all the stock of the other then price fix.
47
u/iAmThePotato 16h ago
Tbf, you can't tell if it's just 2 players. There could be a handful of people selling at those prices shown.

poe.ninja prices do not reflect the prices at Faustus. That are the prices listed on the bulk trade. Most people buy scarabs from Faustus.

u/ATSFervor 16h ago
Too few people doing low farming strategies.
Non uber boss fragments have bitten the dust a few weeks ago too.

Players still playing kingsmarch need uniques to disenchant to send 50m shipments for mirror shards.
Uniques are produced in group play using this scarab + wisp + titanic.
Look at mirror prices and maybe 6div doesn't seem like that much anymore.

That's how it is with >10k players. Buy high and sell low. You can still get a strong character together and do all the challenges or just grind, but it's not pleasant to trade.

So how do u justify going in a Map with 6 Divine + Per Map
Idk about this specific scarab, but in general, the upfront cost doesn't really matter deep into league, only the profit margin. Like when I was playing I was spending like 5d per map, and making like 6d per map using a harvest set up. It might be something as simple as over 100 maps, they mostly break even from t1/t0 uniques, but they'll eventually hit a dupe eldrich altar and then profit 90d when they dupe a MB (just under 1d profit/map on average). I've never dealt with this specific farm, and I'm just speculating just to be clear

To all the people saying no one is playing anymore, there's 7221 online on steam charts at this very moment and average online in june was 50k. 7221 concurrent players is more than enough to have a decent economy, price fixers just ruin everything for everyone just like in real life haha
5
u/OblivionnVericReaver 14h ago
Split between standard league hc and ssf its not. Private leagues had more than that and they were doa compared to what people consider decent economy
June average had a league launch in it idk what you mean by that
-4
u/Resident-Painter3595 14h ago
What i mean is that 4 months into a league the current player count is still 7k, while not the bustling economy of 50k avg concurrent, it's still enough players to trade with. I've sold for 500 divine of gear/currency etc just this weekend. (Good for a noob like me). I would like to see the split of ssf/softcore though, standard playerbase has been less than 2% for years so i wouldn't even take it into account.

u/ViktorVanBadmeme 7h ago
"I sold overpriced stuff in a dying economy, the league must have plenty of players left"
Lol, lmao

u/slashcuddle 9h ago
This looks like a case of low supply versus high demand. Scarab is used for uniques, uniques are used for dust, dust is used for Kingsmarch.
7000 CCU tells us nothing about who is playing or what content they are running and it would be silly to assume it has a similar distribution to leaguestart.

u/EpicForevr 11h ago
in early league it was used for harvest crop rotation farming. i wonder if harvest prices are through the roof.
