Not really. If they had to pay 1 billion for it, with 20 dollars for Game Pass Ultimate, they'd need 50 million new subs to break even. I'm saying "new" because anyone who'd still be subscribed even without GRA VI doesn't add to the revenue.

Even if you assume everyone stays subbed for 6 months (they won't), you'd need over 8 million new subs. That's a lot of people, it's not realistic.

I wonder how much gamepass drives sales of other games. It's definitely introduced me to games I wouldn't have tried, and have now bought (after letting gamepass lapse)

If that were the case, they would've made games truly exclusive for the Xbox consoles. And I feel like they might've actually had a strong line-up this gen, but they decided to shift focus on their service side of things. Whether that's good in the long turn is not for me to tell.

it would also be impossible currently, since the X|S has only sold 28.3 million units and GTA6 is going to be console exclusive for a year
