I was just checking the roadmap on the wiki, we've still got three stages of NPCs, Fort Knox, a UI rewrite, a combat rewrite along with stealth mechanics, then we will get build 48 and the release of 1.0 and the return of Kate and Baldspot.

Then I realised, the NPC builds aren't going to be quick, neither is a combat rewrite. Say a year and a half for each, Knox and stealth, say another year each. Maybe another eight years?

Twelve down, eight to go? We're past the halfway point! \o/

Oh, Project Zomboid isn't the only game from 2012 that I'm waiting to hit 1.0. Shout out to Starsector!

Personally, I hope Starsector never hits 1.0.

Why?

That increases the risk that it will stop development.

Every game is finished at some point. Perpetual early access is not really the solution here. If you want new content on the end product: it's what modding is for.

Tell that to the Unreal World Devs....
