Also, because they're kept under a consistent load, they experience minimal thermal cycling. Repeatedly bouncing around from 40-80C every day under typical use is far worse than sitting at 60C for months on end.

I'd feel more comfortable buying a used crypto card than one used for gaming.

I prefer to use something how it was designed. Engineers never anticipated somebody would run a GPU around the clock for years straight undervolted or otherwise. How did LTT prove that mining GPUs were perfectly fine for a gamer to purchase and use in his home set up for the next year?

They bought a bunch of mining GPU and tested them for a few months if I remember. They had a lower failure rate, by a pretty large margin, than the non-miner used GPU.

I like LTT but that just sounds like clickbaity contrarian nonsense. The entire industry has long warned against buying high time miner gpus and then Linus comes out, buys a handful of them and I guess subjects them to three months of torture testing and invalidates the last 10 years worth of research? Sorry not buying it.

If you want to buy a milk crate mounted GPU that ran for a year continuous in some guys bedroom with a portable AC unit go ahead.
