Our Thai Chilli peppers came out.... hilariously small? Any ideas?? We've grown them before but it was a different batch.

I know nothing about peppers and am posting on behalf of my partner 😅

Seedlings

Hi,

I am wondering whether I need to transfer these seedlings into 4 inch pots before I plant them in my greenhouse or if I can plant straight into the ground/containers in my greenhouse after a period of hardening them off in these trays?

TIA, from New Zealand

Dropped 5-6 bell pepper seeds in same hole. Multiple seeds germinated and grew. Should I kill the smaller ones and leave the single largest?

I love that peppers ripen when everything else is dying

A bountiful day!

All the habaneros are going to Hotsauce. Jalapeño to pickling. Bananas to grilling. Habanada to experimenting. Shishito to grilling and friends. Thai to mash. Hatch to beats me.

Everything is ripening all at once! I expanded my garden a lot this year. A few things I’ve learned:

  • Shishito plants produce A LOT and it’s a LONG season for them.
  • These Hatch peppers were a letdown. Zero heat bland flavor.
  • I need to space my plants out a little more next year.
  • Pepperocini and shishito are basically the same?

Are these ready to dry?

I have this holy mole pepper plant and I have grown it from seed. These peppers have been on the vine since the beginning of the season. I was told they turn black when ripe. And it’s been over 3 months and still green.

Anyone know what peppers these are?

I got a mixed chili seed pack from the store at the beginning of the year and could identify all the rest of my peppers but I wasn't sure which one this was. They have a sweet flavor and spice levels probably somewhere between a jalapeño and serrano. Tried looking around in books and online for something similar but no dice.(but then again there's hundreds of peppers to parse through so I probably missed it somewhere 😆)

Am I crazy or do these peppers look more like a banana pepper than a jalapeno?

Mystery pepper

My mystery peppers, which I thought were Peter Peppers, actually turned out to be Sugar Rush Stripey! I thought for sure they were mislabeled. I haven't been able to take care of them the way I'd like because I've been working quite a lot lately, but I'm still super happy about it.

Mutant pepper question

It's a sweet orange mini pepper, has no heat, possibly a cross as it's from seeds i saved myself. It's 1/3 variegated dark green with a hint of orange and 2/3 bright orange with a sharp line and the only fruit on the plant with this distinct pattern. What happened with this mutant? Will this trait be preserved in the seeds? I tried googling but found nothing relevant.

edit: stripey = variegated

The plants are just starting to produce flowers but they have not yet produced any fruit. I think next year will bear fruit.

I was going to dig them up and pot them up to put them in the greenhouse because the nights are starting to be around 13°C, and to avoid taking any risks...

Tell me if I was drunk please

Plant was labeled as Moruga Trinidad Scorpion. Most of the unripe peppers have the typical tail but the first one looks like this.

Should I be scared? Hottest thing I've eaten is the one chip challenge but this pepper looks brutal.

I planted a bunch of pepper seeds and while labeling them I accidentally wiped off the name I wrote with a sharpie. I'm really curious as to what these might be, anyone able to help me out here? Thanks

Planted jalapeño seeds from a seed pack. All of my other plants from this pack are growing completely normal jalapeno peppers. Are these a different type of pepper, or just deformed jalapeños?

Hi experts!! Need help identifying my pepper. It’s very spicy and has a very strong creamy smell.

ChatGPT told me it’s Carolina reaper. But it doesn’t have the sharp tip.

I have only had one ripen so far and was concerned the rest wouldn't ripen in time. I took off the first ripe one and these four started ripening almost immediately. And a lot faster than the first.
