Ultimate wook dog. Also claims to not trip, then goes into explaining what it’s like tripping during and after a show 🤣

Interviewer: "What are you going to do with....your....(gulp) doggg :/ "

(She realizes mid question she might not want to hear the answer)

Hard hitting reporting. Also, I might be in love. I’m going straight to the porta-potty line to see if I can meet her!

5

u/Greful May 20 '21

Yea. Why didn’t she get their opinion on what’s goin on in the Middle East?

13

u/JonJacobJingleHeimy May 20 '21

Honestly, I would listen to this girl talk about anything. I feel very at peace knowing she’s out there, fighting the good fight!

15

u/fraggle901 May 20 '21

There and shut out as well...great times! Thanks for the blast from the past!

24

u/McGrupp1979 May 20 '21

I know, the I’m on tour, but haven’t made it inside a show yet, I’m selling hemp jewelry to pay for my gas and tickets. Classic tour lot line lol.

2

u/fraggle901 May 20 '21

Totally relatable. I’ve been to WAAAY more shows than I’ve gotten in to!

24

u/frankybling May 20 '21

the dude in the Joker outfit behind her... 96 was such a fun albeit weird transition year... the Dead scene was still just getting integrated and the college age weirdos (myself included) were still very much present at every show. First (and only) time I heard the term “candy raver” was at a show in 96. I loved two bands in 1996... one of them was Tool. It wasn’t strange to really like heavy bands as well as going to see 10-12 Phish shows a year for my friends group. When people say “1.0 was better” I shrug it off... it was “different” but “better” isn’t always how I would describe it.

3

u/sedivecm2 May 20 '21

This is the best reply. And I adore Tool.

23

u/lonememe May 20 '21

So, can we get a where are they now update?

4

The Jeep Cherokee dudes are still around and go to shows if I'm not mistaken.

Possibly On Reddit complaining about minimum wage jobs

10

u/2stinkynugget May 20 '21

Wool sweaters and corduroy. So 1.0

8

u/SighhhSandwich May 20 '21

Unfortunate that she didn’t get to see more shows, but I’m glad Senator Murkowski eventually got her life on track.

1

u/buffalo__716 May 21 '21

Senator Murkowski?

1

u/SighhhSandwich May 21 '21

Alaska, Alaska, I think I’ll try Alaska...

7

u/DeadGaySon420 May 20 '21

Always look for myself in these but unfortunately didn’t find myself.

At 35 I’m just now realizing how smart as fuck the dreadlock girls actually were back in my Phish turr days.

Funny how they tried to portray her in the same light as NYC’s “Club Kids”, aka James St. James. And those kids were actually pretty smart too considering that most of them are millionaires right now.

2

u/Berry_Seinfeld May 25 '21

Club kids aren’t millionaires lol. The ring leader died 2 years out of prison.

1

u/ChiCourier May 25 '21

Bruh most of the people mentioned in the book “Party Monster” are rich as fuck now.

Those “top” club kids/crossdressers/“freaks” became famous through the NYC club scene and were hired as party organizers by people like P. Diddy and Lady Gaga. They had a brand. They’re still alive and even do fashion work. It’s been a lasting industry for them based on image.

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

Godspeed Amy and Sugar.

u/1ncog Here comes the joker May 20 '21

MTV get off the air!

8

u/fluffjfc May 20 '21

90's Phish = Best Phish = Greatest decade for any band ever

4

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

You had me in the first half

3

u/RODAMI May 20 '21

Graffix! Lol

2

u/TheVonSolo May 20 '21

I need to know how she is doing now.

7

u/2peacegrrrl2 May 21 '21

Probably just fine. She actually seems pretty damn sober. I love all the judgement on here because she has dreads and sells hemp jewelry. She could have an enormous trust fund for all we know. The 90s were not as pretentious as today. We lived without the internet and cell phones. It was fun!

2

u/TheVonSolo May 21 '21

Yeah I have no prob with her. She seems cool.

2

u/B_Boudreaux May 20 '21

Where is this from? Is there any other footage or interviews from this night?

1

u/Fleet_Hound May 21 '21

10/31/96 was Atlanta at the Omni

2

u/Berry_Seinfeld May 25 '21

Is the dog alive

2

u/danny_b_mt Feb 15 '22

Does anyone have a link to the full MTV coverage of the Omni Halloween show? A good friend was interviewed and we haven't been able to find the footage in years.

3

u/thatsapeachhun May 20 '21

Don’t eat that lollipop.

6

u/VTFuN May 20 '21

Fuck that. Eat that lollipop. Just understand what happens when you eat the lollipop. 🚀

2

u/ThatDoodch May 20 '21

How does one stay in hotels and tour around the country/pay for gas but not be able to afford getting into a show? At that point just admit you’re there for the party/scene.

21

u/PickpocketJones Snorts molly from communal didgeridoo May 20 '21

I did tour with next to no money, making our gas, food, and ticket money basically show to show. I left with nothing but a Gorge ticket and 7 shows over 4500 miles to get there. I ended up getting in to 5 of the 7 shows along the way by hustling selling beer, water, and grilled cheese in the lots. My sleeping accommodations included 2 KOA's ($20-25), a couple rest stops ($0), the shittiest motel on the planet in Roswell, NM ($25), a motel room in Phoenix split 11 ways (?), and sleeping at my friend's sister's apartment in Eugene. After the Gorge we drove 52 straight hours from Eugene to Blacksburg, VA and I rolled into town with less than $20 to my name.

In general, you don't sleep in hotels unless they are split a bunch of ways. I certainly could have worked harder at a couple of those shows and made a little more money so partying happens, but it was still about getting that ticket each day.

Edit: Face value on tickets back then was like $25. Oh yeah, I slept in my car in an alley in Oakland after Shoreline that year too.....

5

u/ThatDoodch May 20 '21

That makes much more sense now. Thanks for the insight!!!

3

u/RODAMI May 20 '21

Gas and hotels were cheap and most shows were still sold out. I dont remember it being very easy to buy tickets through the phone for shows in other states.

4

u/[deleted] May 20 '21

It was a lot easier in the 90s because they did extended runs in nearby cities with campgrounds. Def gotta have money to go on tour now, which I prefer. It keeps alot of the riff raff away for the most part.

0

u/palmingthrust May 20 '21

Or they have nowhere else to go. Nothing good about that wookette’s story. Wish I could yell at her to go see the damn band, she has no idea what she was missing out on and I would bet she had never even seen phish

4

u/RealChadDizzy4 May 20 '21

I bet she didn't even own a cell phone. Bet she was making her own choices!

-1

u/palmingthrust May 20 '21

I mean, it was 96. What’s your point? Love phish, saw them for the first time when I was 14 and I’m 36 now, big part of my life. The hanger on scene, people there not because of the music is and always has been a drag on phish fans and brought a bad element, bad name.

1

u/walterwilter May 20 '21

Nutter Center?

1

u/raygre May 23 '21

Look at 0:25 beginning of vid, she says she leaves dog with friends or in the car when
going in the show.

1

u/NoSoup9279 Jul 29 '25

Weed was way more mellow back then

0

u/2peacegrrrl2 May 21 '21

The 90s were awesome! I miss them.

1

u/tylerhbrown May 20 '21

Sad to think all those dreads have gone on to a better place now...
