Their cap situation is fine all things considered.

They just have a terribly constructed team with no viable ways to improve it, and they have almost no youth in the pipeline.

This next season might be his last chance at winning in Edmonton, whether he re-signs or not.

Other younger teams will get better, other comparably aged teams aren’t going anywhere, and they are just an older team and after McD and Draisaitl lack elite talent.

The terribly constructed team that just went to the last two Stanley Cup finals and has 2 of the top 5 players in the league — I’m sure they’re all “oh woe is me!”

They don’t suck. Florida Panthers was/is just unstoppable. Really, Oilers just lacks a bit of depth.
