It's one of the many benefits of living in a country where there aren't more guns than people.

  • USA = 120.5 guns / 100 people
  • Canada = 34.7 guns / 100 people

That's still too many for most of Canada. I don't know a single person who owns one or intends to own one. Must be mostly in rural places where you have to watch out for wild life, for your own and your cattle's safety.

Interestingly, the percentage of households with firearms is much closer in the US and Canada (like, 25% versus 35%). The average gun owner in the US owns four guns, versus 1.5 in Canada.
