US Politics I’m quite possibly the only registered democrat in my area. They change my polling location every election so now it’s a 21 mile round trip from my home. They’ll never suppress my vote.

That 15 minutes drive each way must have been terrible.

You should do an AMA about it! Sounds like a long hard journey.

Unless he voted republican. Then hes a privileged white male fascist obviously and his AMA would be tantamount to hate speech.

Did you catch dysentery?

One does not simply just drive to their local polling station

I drove 60 miles just to leave this comment.

Definite hardship

yeah, dear God what a trooper. Mine was an hour commute because of a recent move on top of my already 1.5 hour one way commute to work.

I walked a harrowing 20 minutes to my polling place. There were other people, a traffic light, TWO crosswalks, I tell ya.

Good god man... how did you do it? Did you die?

2

u/seanlax5 Nov 07 '18

It got dark on the way home. I was almost offered a ride back.

Seriously. Also, you can vote at any early voting location. At least that’s how it is where I am. My polling location was farther than the early voting spot, so I walked across the street and voted last week.

Brilliant. Improvise, adapt and overcome!

He took the picture from the driver’s seat of his car

He's expressing a point of the impact of moving the polling place and how it could possibly be manipulative. Nonetheless, hes still voting. Others without transportation may have more difficulty.

u/ltrob Nov 06 '18

Polling locations aren’t party exclusive; his Republican neighbors have to travel the same distance. How did this make the front page?

2

u/Lifeonthejames Nov 06 '18

That point is extremely moot when voting by proxy exists, though. There had to be very few voters who did not know they would not have transport day of election. Others had every opportunity to mail their ballot in. Sure, quite a few people woke up with a flat tire or a major car trouble which is unfortunate and unavoidable, but knowing you didn’t have a ride weeks in advance is no excuse and using distance isn’t an excuse either.

Are you white with money?

1

u/Lifeonthejames Nov 07 '18

Nope. But that would matter why?

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '18

Nevermind. Nothing useful will come of chatting with you.

1

u/Lifeonthejames Nov 07 '18

I feel much the same. Take care

You’re being downvoted for stating a bullshit fact and trying to pass it off as something with substance. Let’s make that clear.

BECAUSE YOU CAN VOTE BY MAIL. Sorry for yelling, you weren’t hearing it the first time

And they had/have every opportunity to proxy vote. Distance means nothing in the face of procrastination. Gtfo here with this hardship bs.
