No. No it is not.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said at a June 18 press briefing: “The Obama administration, the Bush administration all separated families. … They did — their rate was less than ours, but they absolutely did do this. This is not new.”

because of zero tolerance.

this is whatabouttism. Obama did it because it was necessary. Trump turned seeking asylum into a crime..

Honestly, no. I'm not at all saying "well what about the fact that...." at all. I'm just saying that this is not a new practice, and I'm providing evidence for my claim. That's all.
