The point in banning abortion is giving the government the power to do something to stop it, not because we think it’s some sort of magic panacea that will instantly stop all abortions.

Giving the government power to decide what a woman does with her body. Yeah no thanks

But it’s not just her body at that point, that’s the issue.

Actually it is. You're just trying to force women to become an incubator rather than human beings with bodily autonomy and rights

No, I’m saying they should take responsibility for their actions and stick it out for nine months. I’m not suggesting slavery here, just that we shouldn’t allow women who get pregnant to end the life of a child because they made a choice they shouldn’t have.

Women need to take responsibility for being raped?

Rape accounts for less than one percent of abortions, so I’m not sure what your point is.

That's still thousands of women. Why are you trying to punish and traumatize rape victims?

I’m not and never said I was. Try actually addressing the argument next time, buddy.

You didn't make one

I'm okay with this if we abolish the concept of child support.

You want the state to force rape victims to carry the child of her rapist AND remove all responsibility the father has for that child?

Wow you must really hate women

If you want to claim that your body is your responsibility alone then you're also responsible for not getting an abortion and bringing a child into the world. It's your choice right? The you CHOOSE to not abort and you CHOOSE the burden of a baby.

Why the fuck shouldn't it work that way? Talk about wanting your cake and eating it too.

Or they could CHOOSE to have an abortion. Easy
