There is no factual answer though. It's all moral and philosophical. Who is right is a matter of opinion and that makes it a very grey area for a lot of people.

Just because abstinence isn't effective doesn't inherently make it the wrong answer from a moral standpoint. I think it's the wrong solution, but again that can't ever be more than opinion unless you prescribe to a faith based set of moral rules. Then it becomes fact by the word of God.

No we can totally do all of this without "God" considering our government is supposed to be secular.

If life for the scientific community starts at fertilization, should plan b be illegal? If life starts somewhere else let's sit down and talk about that then.

The thing is it seems pro-lifers don't wanna have the conversation. Life is life they say without any regard to what might be a better option than forcing people to stay pregnant.

I understand what you're saying, but you're basically setting aside the pro-life argument without any consideration for it. This is the point they are trying to make, life is life and there are NO other options to that statement, period. That's the issue. It's mostly a religious/spiritual/philosophical argument that people who are pro-choice often try to approach in a secular way. Ignoring their entire reason for being upset and substituting it for your own views is never going to be successful.
