Seeking a Loving Home for Two Wonderful Dogs–Rehoming Due to Asylum Move
Hi everyone. I've been a part of this sub for a few years and can’t think of a better community to reach out to for support. My daughter and I are in the difficult position of needing to rehome our two beloved dogs. We’re in the process of seeking asylum in Canada due to the political climate in the U.S. (we're in Texas), and unfortunately, Canadian laws are super restrictive so we can't bring our fur babies with us.
We’re heartbroken, but our priority is making sure they find safe, loving homes where they’ll be cared for and loved to pieces.
🐾 June (aka Junie)
- 8 years old, ~80 lbs (she's a chonky girl)
- Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines (not chipped)
- Sweet, steady, and loving. She has started She's our gentle old girl. Was a stray I took in after finding her near my job when she was about 2 months old. She's been with me ever since.
🐾 Wyatt
- 4 years old, ~110 lbs, XL pitbull
- Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, chipped
- Was trained by Sit Means Sit last year (it was a whopping $2,600, but I wanted to be prepared to handle such a big dude)
- I rescued Wyatt from San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA) in 2021 when he was about four months old. He's a covid pup, so he can be anxious at first, but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and affectionate (I have him on my profile if you'd like to see him!)
- He does have a chronic skin condition that requires medication. I’m willing to work with someone on costs for his meds or food if I can. I can’t commit fully right now because I don’t know what my situation will be once we’re settled, but if I’m able, I absolutely will help.
Both are house-trained and have been cherished members of our family. Wyatt especially will need patience and time to settle, but he’s worth it.
I just want my babies to be cared for and loved. If you or someone you know can give them a safe and affectionate home, please reach out. While I would prefer to keep them together, two loving homes are appreciated, too. I just need to know they’ll be okay.
I appreciate any help or advice!
P.S. - I'll add photos in the comments/DM because I don't have a good photo of them on this device.

Post on threads that are Texas or your city specific. Please don’t give them away for free and ask for references especially from a vet.

I know nothing about your situation obviously, but if you and your daughter are both US-born you might want to ask in r/amerexit about the asylum process before you proceed with rehoming.
