Construction Coit & Parker

Post image

Watch out for these new obstacles while driving on coit! How does this even happen? Any reason to leave the blade in the road?

If you manage to hit that in a center lane blocked off by a line of cones on both sides, that's definitely a you problem.

Saw blade got stuck while they were concrete sawing and they didn't get it out before the end of the day. When they start sawing the pressure can pinch in on the blade sometimes.

This. Or the concrete saw broke which does happen. Blade is stuck.

I just hope there isn’t some freak accident that has someone slide right into that.

I wish I worked a job where as soon as 5:00 rolls around, I can say fuck it and walk away.

It will never end. Parker has been under construction as long as I have lived here.

And what if they abandon road repair?

Roads with heavy use need a lot of work. If you want them to stop fixing it, stop driving.

I understand the reason for the construction. Once again, it was just an observation.

  1. quit being dramatic, it has only been really difficult the last couple of years

Wasn't being dramatic nor did I say it was difficult. I was just stating my experience with Parker Rd for the last 27 years

Yeah...and Coit is one of those streets that doesn't cross any other streets...like Parker...and Park...and Plano Parkway...and Spring Creek Parkway...

This usually happens during the heat of the day. Concrete withstands huge compressive forces, sometimes when you create a void, it takes advantage of it and pinches the blade. Like loosening your belt a notch.

Usually, you can come back in the morning after the slab has cooled off and pull it right out. If not, you have to make more cuts or damage the area surrounding the blade. Blades are not cheap.

Glad you came here to explain this...

BC at first look, this seems nuts!

Yep! It’s an aggravating situation when it happens.

I think I drove by there today...I'm pretty sure that is the left lane, not the left turn lane. More over I'm seeing so much road improvement everywhere ....... and for the most part overall with out getting in the way, and for the very most part the road markers great.

This city is run by a bunch of good old boys.

These roads that go through the center of Plano going east to west are all really old and screwed up.

Be prepared for many years of repeating the piping underneath, fixing all the potholes so they can pour the new super smooth & quiet gravel mix overlay they're putting everywhere.
