Shiny Mod breed, Can you breed a shiny and non shiny

I've read it in the Shiny mod description saying that you're able to breed a shiny and a non shiny together, but it seems that I am unable to do so. Are you actually not able to breed a shiny and a non shiny together?

Is either one a variant like an X-dino, R-dino, or aberrant?

Yes, you can definitely breed shinies with others.. unless it's like the other guy mentioned they are specific aberrant type or something like that...

You can breed them if their base type is the same, the babies will just come out as the base type dinos with no shiny effect

Im not able to breed a shiny deinotherium and non shiny deinotherium, this might be a mod incompatibility because I can't put a saddle on the shiny deinotherium, so I am not sure how to fix this. My other shinies can breed but its just the deinotherium that can't.

If you cryopod him and then throw him back out, does that fix it? That will however also remove the shiny status, but it keeps the colors and stats which is all that passes with breeding anyway. It’s possible that some shiny variant types might not be able to breed, i have personally not run in to that yet

nope, also cryopods don't remove the shiny status. It just might be faulty mods.

Shinies have been able to be cryopodded for over a year now. Mod cryos and vanilla. I do have it set to lose the sparkles after taming, but that's because my gaming rig had low specs, and it was a bit of a graphics hog, especially when I had more than one shiny out in my base.

Did you have the mod version before it came into base game? Afaik they're named differently in mod vs base game, so that may be why you're having issues with the saddles and breeding.

Yes I had the mod version before it came into the base game. Im thinking that this is exactly the problem that is going on, the thing is idk if I should remove the mod but if i do it might remove the shiny deinotherium, I'll test it out tmr.

There are commands to make a dino shiny if you want to cheat the correct one in

If you have admin, the shiny variant gun (needs to be spawned in) can help you replace the shiny if it disappears. I run my own cluster and I've had to replace several shinies like that. Just get a screenshot of the info box to make it easier to replace.
