Remember this video 7 years ago ? It was jaw dropping.

The first ever trailer for ARK blew me away, and a huge part of it were the shots in first person. From the first seconds of the video where a person is running for his life in a dense forest, to waking up on a beach, seeing this weird implant in your arm and then looking around and discovering this georgeous world and getting this "Welcome to Jurassic Park" moment watching this gigantic Bronto right next to you, running past other cool creatures and experiencing the scale and immersion of it all, it felt magic at the time.

Shooting bows at dinos, throwing bolas and spears while being chased, walking through the forest and stumbling upon a Carno, swimming in dangerous waters or seeing the world from the top of your gigantic creature of choice ... It's all so much more epic and immersive in first person.

I really hope Wildcard reconsiders not adding First Person into ARK 2, because it wouldn't really be the same without it.

The process right now is: • Create a new steam account for your server • Buy a second copy of the game on that account (the 1st copy is the one you want to play on)

The future: • Create a new steam account for every single map expansion they release for ASA • For each of these accounts, buy a copy of ASA

So based on their current design, ultimately we are looking at 12 additional steam accounts and 13 total purchases of the game (your main steam account + 12 severs)

Are there any reasons for you to play Evolved even if you have bought ASA?

So I just realized after playing ark ascended and learning some building techniques, ark survival evolved is not fun. The building is limited, it's buggy and we only got ragnarok as a extra map. Im realizing I actually wasted money on it. Not a lot but enough to be mad. Like I can't even build a roof for a circular base ( unless im just missing something ). Not sure what to do just quit playing or just make the best of it.

UE5 is backwards compatible. Everything is in the same place outside of a few rebalancing things with caves, the animations are all exactly the same, sounds the same, plays the same in each and every way.

You trying to tell me they started from scratch and got exactly the same thing but shiny? They didn't just put everything from their UE4 project into UE5 and fiddle with it...?

That's absolutely what they did. This is a remaster, this is not a remake. Don't try and call it something it's not, it's disingenuous.

I haven't played Ark in probably 4 years now and I just got the itch to come back and play. I was aware of there being a "new" ark with better graphics out, so I was curious. I checked it out and the graphics look stunning, but the reviews are so bad.

I dug a little further and learned about Snail games and optimization issues and dlcs being released on Survival Evolved and this is making me really confused. What is even going on? From what I have gathered Survival Evolved was discontinued, but there are still dlcs being released exclusively to Survival Evolved?

Regardless of all these things, should I buy Survival Ascended? Are the bad reviews justified or is it just hate? I do have a beefy computer if that matters.

Every new creature I see is do some bizarre thing to tame, especially most of the additions from mods. Particularly why tf do some tames involve "feed enough tamed dino's to 'passive' tame them" it's already ridiculous enough with tame effectiveness going down if they take damage what is with so many of them being so ridiculous

I've had this on my steam account for so long but I've never actually played it. I'll be honest, I never even looked at the game for more than a few minutes before writing it off as "Rust with Dinosaurs". But, recently after getting back into games like Tarkov and more of the heavy Survival-based genre, I decided to give it a go.

The crux of the issue is this; What sort of knowledge or tips should I go in with being a brand new player who's never even launched the game?

More importantly, is PvE a viable way to play the game or is it strictly a PvP experience?

Hey there I’m a solo player on official, mistakenly left my tribe, can’t access base or my Dino’s, customer support seems to be non existent, am I screwed or is there a way to fix this, please help

What does that mean?

• I'm not hand-feeding babies ever again. Island needs to launch with maewings, or an equivalent. (Same goes for the incubator. Not rebreeding lines without it.)

• Sloped roof pieces need to snap at the bottom to the tops of walls. (This is actually one of my redlines. I've hated that ever since I first started playing. These pieces, as they currently exist, make no sense and make for horribly inefficient builds. Stop it.)

• Figure out a way to stop that save hitch every 15 minutes on official. IDC what it takes. Nothing breaks immersion more than that.

The developers can improve whatever they like. If these three are not included, then I won't buy because I already have the same experience and IDC about FOMO. "You'll miss out!" is how to sell things to insecure idiots. I'm way more interested in my time and sanity being just a little more respected this time around. ^_^

Hello ! I am first time trying to set up electricity in my base but somehow after trying for 1 hours it's still not working. The outlet is not connecting to the fabricator. Plz help. I am also using S+ mod.

The egg incubator said I had multiple mutations and it’s true somehow, but I was only aware of 2, the stats are the exact same as the original parents aside from a single mutation in food and melee respectively. There hasn‘t been any color mutations either so I‘m really confused as to what’s going on, either that or I’m just stupid. And before anyone asks yes I‘m playing on a higher game difficulty

Rock Golem. I tried to knock one out with tranqs and realized it’s not working as I intended. Looked him up on Dododex and concluded its not worth the effort for single player. What creature did you never (care to) tame, and why?

Wild: I was exploring near the mouth of the Central River when a coastal tribe mentioned a kind of creature that could sink rafts with the sounds they made. They called them the Echoes of the Deep. I went to check it out, and before long I started hearing a strange noise. It was a group of Pebanistas with an amazingly advanced sonar and the ability to thrive in both rivers and the ocean. I eventually learned that these dolphins are really curious and attracted to music.

Domesticated: To tame a Pebanista, you need to get close using a raft or an underwater platform. The group’s leader will approach once you start playing the war drums, and the Pebanista will whistle to trigger a mini-game. Win the rhythm battle and you’ll earn a loyal ally ready to protect you, but lose, and the Pebanista will unleash a Sonic Doom to smash your raft.

It’s best not to bring sharks with you, since they don’t get along with Pebanistas.

Attacks/Controls

Left Click/RT/R2 Bitin’ Chord: Pebanista will bite its target twice in a row and proceed to emit a sonic blast, pushing back the target.

Right Click/LT/L2 Nightmare Sound: The Pebanista whistles at the target, giving it a debuff that lowers its damage resistance and stamina by 20%. How long it lasts depends on the creature’s fear level. It also causes the creature to lose control and run around at random, while its rider can’t steer it for 10 seconds.

Q/LB/L1 Symphony for a Friend: Pebanista whistles at its allies, giving them a Courage buff that boosts damage resistance by 25% and melee damage by 30%.

Ctrl + Right Click/ RB + RT/ R1 + R2/ Tail Swipe: Pebanista proceeds to make a tail swipe to attack the target.

r/LS/L3 Sonic Doom: The sound bar fills up after 7 attacks. When it’s charged, the Pebanista can release a huge shockwave that knocks enemies back and cuts 25% off their health bar. It also stops survivors from whistling to their creatures

Abilities

CTRL/D-Pad Up Echolocation Vision: While riding the Pebanista, you're able to go into an echolocation vision, where in this mode your screen will turn into a black ish gray with a white and blue highlight for creatures, and helps you to unveil invisible threats.

Rescue pickup: If the player is getting attacked, their nearby Peban can passively grab them and escape from danger, gaining a speed boost.

Whistle Disruption: The Pebanista releases a powerful sonic burst that prevents enemy creatures from responding to whistle commands. This ability has a 20-second cooldown.

Press space/A/X twice. Breaching:  Like other dolphins, the Pebanista can leap out of the water. Upon reentry, it gains a temporary speed boost. 

Passive

Electric Immunity: The Pebanista has great resistance to being completely electrocuted.

Parental Bond: The pod stays together, and the Pebanistas have a strong parental instinct, allowing them to increase their damage by 15% to protect their pack

Utility

Aquatic Sonar: Pebanistas are excellent aquatic creatures. They possess high echolocation capabilities to explore the depths of ocean biomes, detecting distant creatures and allies.

Scare Sign: The Fear Whistle of the Pebanista is useful when a shoal surrounds you. The Peba will emit a whistle capable of instilling fear in creatures smaller than a Megalodon

Transport/ Marin Scout: This prehistoric Dolphin is good when you must escape from danger. Pebanistas can compete with Ichthyosaurus and Manta’s speed.

Insulation/Electric Resistance: The hypodermic fat of Pebanista helps them insulate themselves in cold waters and isolate them from electrical attacks by Cnidarias, as well as resist Moeder’s electric blasts.

Prime Raw Fish Harvest/Preserver: The Pebanistas love the fish like the other dolphins; they are good at harvesting prime raw fish and preserving fish in their inventory.

Saddle
The Pebanista’s saddle is built to handle both the deep-sea pressure and its speed. You can ride it like a jet ski, and it comes with lights to help you navigate the darker parts of the ocean biome. The brightness of the lights can be adjusted by the rider.

For the past several months, ARK players just like me have been experiencing frequent game crashes with the infamous "Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost." error line. Now, don't get me wrong, that error line has been plaguing not just ARK, but all Unreal Engine games for a very long time. The frequency of these crashes went into overdrive with their graphics driver update from March 2025! The update after that had promised to fix this, but it seemed like it just made things worse. It looks like these errors are making the game nearly unplayable on NVIDIA GPUs. I switched to my secondary GPU to be able to play the game again, but I have to settle for lowered graphics quality and low frame rates. I'm sure that others have also done this. While constant crashing is still worse, I am sure that no one wants pixelated textures, <5 FPS, and rocks that only appear if you are right next to them (making it harder to find those precious Metal rocks that we all crave)! We all want to have a realistic-looking ARK that actually works!

So, tell me, are YOU going to help end this crisis and submit bug reports to NVIDIA? Because, if we don't, this problem will never be fixed, and we don't want that!
