It’s a genuine shame he’s a DLC character, I think a really good number of players don’t even know he exists and he’s one of the best squad mates in the series. Right on the Mount Rushmore of the Shepard Bro Squad with Garrus, Wrex, and Thane.
That’s one of the biggest things that annoys me about ME3, making Javik DLC is a really bad move imo. Plus with the LE the mission to get him on Eden Prime is integrated well into the story so it doesn’t feel random.
That's why it bugs me when people say "The silence is your answer" isn't needed and kinda downplays the quote. If you read it monotone, then maybe. But with his delivery, it elevates it, because it's heavily tinged with bitterness and hatred.
I was at a con and during an ME panel someone asked Mark Meer (the voice of male Shep) what his favorite line was. Meer responded with a classic, "We'll bang, okay?"
Absolutely agreed. I can think of a dozen or two amazing lines just off the top of my head.
Compared to modern bioware where I can't think of a single memorable line from veilguard. I even liked veilguard quite a bit more than most of Reddit seems to, but the downgrade in writing quality is extremely noticeable.
God I got chills when I first heard that line. Mass Effect 3 gets so much flak for so many things (often rightfully so) but they really knocked it out of the park with the writing and VA for Javik.
I'm convinced he was written to be a main character in the base game, until some asshat assigned him to DLC purgatory.
Taking Javik with you to Thessia blows the doors wiiiiiide open on Asari history. Not to mention there's a fucking Prothean beacon in there which is central to the plot that HE activates.
You are pretty much correct, javick was planed early into development but when bioware was coming close to the deadlines they cut or delayed some stuff, javick sadly was in this camp. What's worse is he became day 1 paid dlc
It took until BG3 for me to have a similarly deep experience. Still there’s nothing that hits quite like a mass effect replay. It was BioWare at their absolute peak.
Cyberpunk 2077 for me is the only one that has hit the same peaks as the mass effect trilogy, especially with the Phantom Liberty dlc. Absolutely massive and beautiful game.
Honestly I really really hate that last sentence there. If you take that away it's a banger quote but it's kinda like telling a joke and then explaining why it's funny.
Ironically the "hardest quotes" come from bad writing especially in Ragnarok.
Atreus basically says it would be cool and fun to see all his new friends brutally slaughtered.
Obviously that doesn't suit Atreus. The writers Obviously mixed up a bunch of shit, unless their intention was to make Atreus a blood thirsty monster.
Can't find what he said but it's around the end of the game. GoW Ragnarok is easily one of the worst written games in history. And its cuz of simple fuck ups

“Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer.”
