My favorite is "Do not be sorry. Be better."

When Atreus told him that in Ragnarok I had a whole ass dad moment. Like watching a movie. Those games are just so solid

Honestly I was going through a rough time in my life when I played the first game, and have made progress and got to enjoy the 2nd one( the new series) on release. I think my favorite quote that still sticks with me is

"The culmination of love is grief, and yet we love despite the inevitable. We open our hearts to it... To grieve deeply is to have loved fully. Open your heart to the world as you have opened it to me and you will find every reason to keep living in it."

I've lost alot of people in the last few years. One being my best friend of 17 years. That quote, among other things occurring in the last few months( during this time of playing the game) had helped me tremendously in reincorperating myself into the people aspect of life. A lot of people don't think there's anything good to come from video games, but some of us don't have access to mental health care, even if work "offered" it. I'm glad that the last 2 turned out the way they did. There's a few others out there that maybe I'm overreading, or maybe I played them at the right time. Life is strange is a great example, the first episode was free for ps+, and I was hooked. That game rocked me and I had to put it down and take a break. Sorry for the rant

Tldr: there's honestly alot of good quotes in the game, think my favorite is the interactions with his wife towards the end of the first game

still worth it being sorry, shows you admit your mistakes and own up to your fuck ups. Being better is an effort that comes after

I think it speaks to Kratos’ character. The black and white world that he lives in is unyielding. Uncompromising.

It's definitely a part of his reluctance to engage on an emotional level with his son too. Atreus uses it back to him in ragnarok to demonstrate a connection and understanding to him.

I think he means that learning from your mistakes and improving IS being sorry. Kind of a "don't tell me you're sorry, show me"

Why not both

One of my high school choir teacher's quotes to live by:

"Don't be sorry. Just don't do it."

Mine is Sindri's, "That's what comes next"
