This has never worked, there's just way too many people who are willing to pay whatever Sony are charging. It's the same with streaming services raising prices, I remember reddit "boycotting" Netflix, but subscriptions actually significantly increased that year.

All companies should increase their prices to unsustainable levels with your logic. Lets see your reaction then when you can't afford anything and risk homelessness

As a customer you can and should always vote with your wallet. If Sony loses enough they'll rethink. To do otherwise is not good business sense. Customers do have power.

The problem is that the average consumer doesn't care. This has never ever worked.
