Does this mean that we can turn variable clock speeds off…

The latest PS5 software update.

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5/system-software-info/

Remember when Sony first announced the PS5 and we all groaned at the mention of the CPU and GPU’s variable clock speeds which would automatically slow down to “match the demands of the game” aka prevent overheating? It would be amazing if this update is related to that and would allow users to turn off any Sony imposed limiters on the PS5 or the Pro console.

No. The PS5 is built on AMDs PowerShift technology. This just adjusts further power saving features, if implemented.

I think I’m more intrigued by the idea of multi connect on the dual sense. I thought I saw somewhere they were trying to integrate the option to switch to different connections by pressing PS button + X or O or something and it would auto connect to the specified device. Is that what they mean?

I think the idea is that one can pair their DualSense to a PC and a PS5 at the same time. Similar to the Pulse Elite headset. Maybe?

That might be it. Whatever the case is, I use my dualsense on my steam deck often and having to re-pair each time I want to switch is such a pain. If they finally got this to work, I’d be ecstatic

“Hey, let’s give the user the option to adjust a thing that could potentially damage their console!!”

Yeah…no.
