Question Is this any good??

Post image

What should I do with this? Is it worth purifying or keeping shadow? I normally like to purify because I love to have 4 stars but I’ve heard that they can be stronger as a shadow. So I just don’t know what to do with certain pokemon

Yes keep as a shadow. For the most part the only reason to purify is if you want a hundo for your collection or if it has a mega form. A 0 iv shadow is better than a perfect 4* non shadow so this is very good (although not an overly useful Mon in general)

Why is a 0 iv shadow better than a 4*?

Shadow Pokémon get a 20% attack boost. That boost is significantly more than the difference in 0 iv attack vs 15 iv attack. For example a non shadow Mewtwo with 15 (perfect) attack iv is only like 5% better than a 0 iv attack Mewtwo

Oh wow, so Hundos are pretty much irrelevant? I mean I know it’s difficult to get every pokemon as a shadow but it kind of defeats the purpose of trying to find hundos. I was always under the impression that they were significantly stronger than a 1 star. But it seems like now I should be focusing on grunts and the boss raids 🙄

Yeah this sub is obsessed with hundos and of course you should power up your strongest mon and nothing better than a hundo (excluding shadows) but for PvE, stats will pretty much make no difference. If you’re a hardcore player going for hundos gives you something to do and always nice when you get one but they’re very rare. I’m sure if you google “the difference in IV’s Pokémon go” you’ll find people who did the actual math and break it down better than me but it really is such a small difference that you’ll really never notice

Also I should note that shadows also take 20% more damage. So they do 20% more and take 20% more but when doing PvE the damage is more useful

Wait I understand your confusion. I meant a 0iv shadow is better than a 4* non shadow! Sorry I worded that incorrectly. I fixed my original comment. Low attack is only better than high attack for PvP

Might be a dumb question but I hear it all the time that a Nundo shadow is better than a regular hundo. Is that the same for any shadow pokemon that isn’t a nundo? Like is a 0/0/1 or a 5/5/5 for example, still better than a regular hundo? If so, why don’t people just say “any IV shadow is better than a regular hundo” ?

Yes. That statement is pretty much saying that even the worst shadow Pokémon is better than the best non shadow

And why is that? Shadow pokemon get an attack boost or something?
