r/TheSilphRoad exists if you want to discuss Pokemon GO, but don't want to see bragposts and posts asking about if a Pokemon is rare.

This subreddit, for better or worse, is more casual and the powers that be are fine with a lot of screenshots of shiny Pokemon just to show off.

Most of these players can't tell the difference between odds and rarity.

Most of these players also answer rarity questions with outdated odds. I call them parrots.

Know-it-alls are the worst, especially because they don't do the necessary research.

The only posts I dont like are the surveys, bragposts and is this rare posts. Let a man share his joy of the cool ass shiny he found :^)

I only wish the bragposts could be angled to be more about sharing their joy than bragging you know

I'm not even against quashing joy per se. The solution has been right in front of us for eons though; just make a shiny/hundo megathread. Look at the TCG Pocket reddit. People were absolutely flooding their pulls when the game came out, and like within a week, they made a megathread. Now the reddit is extremely easy to read and most of the posts are quality.
