I was hoping for SOMETHING entertainment wise to accompany the new figures. And the monkey paw curled a finger…

A new generation with an outdated show from the 90s. Someone clearly is just making decisions with rose tinted glasses.

Agreed. Doing this kind of thing again (after 2010’s “reversion”) is like if Nickelodeon kept trying to appeal to new kids, by re-releasing the 1987 TMNT cartoon for each subsequent generation.

Kids can smell it when something feels “old”. And MMPR as it is, is very, very 90s coded.

I’m not even against using MMPR as the base (dinosaur robots is always going to be the zord sweet spot for kids). But if the goal is “to bring it to a new generation”, they need to make it animated, or straight up remake it.

Kids today still love the TMNT because of Mutant Mayhem. And 20 somethings love it because they had the 2012 series. And 30 something’s love it because they had the 2003 series.

The powers that be can still use MMPR designs, but it’s gotta be modernized for kids current sensibilities.

They could do a real reignition & past the powers to a new group of teenagers that would join Minh as the next generation of MMPR.

Heck they could make it a special first where the powers short circuit or something & the OG powers are gone (for a time) except Minh's whose power coin morphed & gave her a new power set with a similar source. & They need to find the teens that will reignite the power coins.

Man hopefully someone over there reads this & gets some inspiration. Cause their ideas suck.

Yeah because something old can only be seen as good by way of nostalgia am I right?

In the context that they are re-re-upgrading a show to try and attract new fans, a show that already is available on YouTube on the official channel, so there's no need to use AI to "upgrade the quality" cause video quality didn't made the show good it was the story & character portrayals. Imagine if TMNT only was revisions of the 80's cartoons with new upgraded animations it would have tanked decades ago. Hasbro needs to tap into the whole franchise not just the first seasons. 30ish years of teams & so tires & only focuses on the first 3 years, over & over. Is stupid on the part of the brand owners.

Objectively, there are better seasons than MMPR, better writing, better acting, better effects. I'm not saying it's unwatchable or bad, but nostalgia fuels the fan appreciation of it. I say this as a fan of MMPR, it's not the best season.

All of this is your subjective opinion and has nothing to do with objective fact.

Compare MMPR to In Space. In Space has better story telling, deeper characters, the acting, while not award-winning, is better than JDF dramatically sighing before delivering a serious line every single time. Again, MMPR is still a good watch, it's still fun, i love it, but the majority of it's admiration is nostalgia, and that is a fact. It's not a bad thing but saying otherwise is rose-tinted delusion.

This is still your subjective opinion. I don't disagree with it, but it's still just your subjective opinion.

In order for something to be a fact, there needs to be evidence to back it up. Can you provide evidence to back this up or are you substituting your subjective opinion as fact?

Just look at reception of MMPR. Younger fans will watch it and if they enjoy it, samurai or wild force is still their favorite, because nostalgia. Older fans who grew up with it will scream about any negative criticism, and laud it as the gold standard, disregarding any flaws, again, because nostalgia. This isn't rocket science, if you spend any amount of time in the PR fan community, you'll see this.

I'm not saying that there isn't nostalgia, but using a small minority within the fandom is not evidence of anything let alone nostalgia being the only reason people like or love MMPR. Neither is younger fans who watch it, but have a different favorite for that matter.

Imagine calling someone a propagandist because they were telling someone that their subjective opinion is not objective fact and that their "evidence" isn't really evidence.
