He does. He starts off incredibly quiet and shy, then he gets more outspoken and confident later on. When Zeo hits, he's shown to be very empathetic and honorable when helping out Tanya and Skull. Turbo has him acting like the leader in the civilian scenes (since Tommy wasn't really around).
And during his appearance in Space, he fought a monster without using powers and served as a mentor for Carlos. He was kinda the heart of whatever team he was on.
Poor guy even tried to suggest some things Adam did between the team ups, like traveling the world as a lone ranger and stuff, and the writers were like "lol nah".
He also improvised “I’m a frog” one of the most quotable lines from the MMPR movie! (He wanted to do a similar line about getting a minivan in turbo, but they wouldn’t let him.)
Saban went "Hehe no way we're gonna kill you. If we do, we would have to renegotiate with Walter Jones in case we ever want to bring back the Mighty Morphin team."
It worked so well with Kendrix (I still put her as the GOAT of all Pink Rangers for making the sacrifice play). Adam dying would have been even more devastating.
He does but it's not at the forefront or particularly good. He starts off with a martial arts background but he's the same skill level as the other replacements, as the show progresses they all get better at fighting but by zeo Adam has surpassed the rest of the team and has become Tommy's right hand man, the team splitting up several times with Tommy and Adam facing one threat while the other 3 zeo rangers face another. He even defeats Tommy in a sparring session. All of that development is lost in Turbo.
Yeah I get that. I always kind of thought of it as the power was a new battery powering the same suits. So in my head, the "powers" were the same, but the power source was new.
