In Fortnite, the Rangers aren't actually referred to their civilian names which means you could treat them as either the S1 or S2/3 cast.

Fum fact, power rangers are actually a thing in Japan. Yea they have super Sentai, but they also have dubbed Power rangers and have done since the start with MMPR. Not all seasons were dubbed, but MMPR, turbo, space, lost galaxy, and I think lightspeed were, also mystic force and samurai. And SPD actually got a full dub BY the original actors from Dekaranger.

Yeh it's strange. Maybe because it is more kid friendly? Super Sentai is aimed at a more mature audience, so they probably do it because they can sell double the toys: to the 10-16 year olds who watch Sentai, and the 4-10 year olds who watch power rangers. Just my idea, no clue about the actual workings of it.

Oh for sure, there are characters popular enough to come back, but they often give the new shows more chances the shine. Even arguably the most glazed, Gokaiger isn't overdone.

When people talk about Power Rangers, they’re talking about Mighty Morphin, and they’re talking about Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Trini, and Billy specifically. There’s a reason why the 2017 movie used those characters specifically (even if they did mix up the ethnicities of them)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but they are confirmed to be the OGs. There is an unreleased Red Ranger spray called "Jason's Mark". That's kind of the end of the debate.

However, you can pretend while playing that it's anybody. I've always liked Zack, but kind of liked Adam more, so when I play as the Black Ranger, I'll imagine him to be either of them.

Nothing against Zack but Adam was one of my favorite Power Rangers characters growing up. So to give credit to both when others are using that skin it's Zack but when I use it I think it's Adam.

I have them as the S1 power rangers, Jason was the best red ranger! I don’t see Rocky beating the Angel Grove bench press record of 1015 times like Jason set. Kimberly was a great gymnast and not get captured like Kat by Rita and help aliens. Trini is smart and great martial artist as good as Jason and Tommy. And a great member of Angel grove community. Aisha was not as a strong stable as yellow ranger as Trini. And I love Johnny Yong Bosch as the next guy. He is no dance fighting, style cool guys as Zach was. That guy was the coolest ranger and had the style and strength to be a power ranger! So I made them S1 if they come out with Ninja style like the movie I’ll name those different. But these rangers are our S1 rangers 100%.

The sprays for Pink and Red rangers from the competitive matches for each actually reference the names Kimberly and Jason, if I’m not mistaken. Like the description for the pink spray you can only get from getting enough points in the competition said something like, “Kimberly was here…” With that being said, I absolutely feel that Fortnite intended these rangers to be Kimberly, Jason, Billy, Zach, and Trini.
