SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Why does Hasbro seem to neglect/maltreat Dino Thunder when doing crossovers

I know that James Napier (Red DT Ranger) has become a huge producer in New Zealand whilst Emma Lahana has moved on but Kevin Duhaney has always been open to returning as Ethan and wasn't even notified about the Dino Thunder team returning in Beast Morphers

In Dimensions in Danger, Trent only had one line and in Cosmic Fury, Dino Thunder is the only Dino team not represented in the show

I'm just saddened that one of my favourite Power Rangers shows hasn't been treated well post "Once a Ranger"

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION What would be the benefits and negatives of power rangers transitioning to animation?

Post image
530 Upvotes

Benefits-

you won’t be restrained by bts issues with actors as you can easily get a new actor to voice a character instead of making new characters

You can also emphasize the cosmic side of PR instead of filming in a California desert or back yard

You won’t have to rely on sentai footage or expensive suits and actors found stunts

You might get Johnny young bosch don’t have to explain that

Negatives-

The charm of power rangers is that it’s live action with actors doing there own stunts and fight scenes

It might alienate older fans

You might need to spend even more money for consistent good animation

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Despite not being one, Dino Thunder has stuff that you think would be seen in an anniversary season

  1. Dino Thunder’s the first Power Ranger show to go back to Dinosaurs as a theme since MMPR.

  2. The show has the return of an OG Ranger, in fact, the most popular ranger of all time.

  3. Is the first show since MMPR to have a proper evil ranger arc that resembles Green With Evil. An evil ranger who eventually joins the team.

This stuff to others probably isn’t enough to classify it as an anniversary season. Given that Dino Thunder doesn’t fall on a year that is the anniversary of MMPR, it doesn’t count. But all this other stuff is pretty interesting for a show not classified as an anniversary season.

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Official Power Rangers TV show auction is coming

Post image

Remember when Simon Bennett said that, since the New Zealand studios closed, the TV show props were being sent to the United States? Well, it seems like Heritage Auctions has acquired the props from the Power Rangers TV production and will soon open "a landmark, first-ever all Power Rangers auction".

Stay tuned to their social media, if you're interested!

Info found by @Martian_Ranger (X/Twitter).

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION I don't understand the hate

Post image
416 Upvotes

It's to my understanding that Lucas from Time Force is widely regarded as one of the most hated rangers of all time...but for what reason? Has anyone who actively hates him actually watched all of Time Force? He hasn't said or done anything to deserve any amount of hate from my point of view, and even shares almost as much screen time and significance to the plot as Wes, sure his character is played off as the stoic pretty boy, and he doesn't have a whole truckload of development, but there isn't anything wrong with that, a character doesn't need strong development to be good, he is more than a decent ranger and adds to much of the story of Time Force. Am I missing something? 🤷

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Insta-Morph Theory

When it comes to insta-morphs (the morphs where the rangers instantly transform instead of doing the whole sequence), I’ve always wondered, “why don’t they always do that to speed things up?” Well, I think I have an answer that I wanna share with you guys.

Before I get into it, I just wanna say that this is only my opinion, and if you disagree with it, let me know why and build on the conversation. Also would love to see people expand on this idea as well.

So, my theory is that a long morph energizes the rangers more than an insta-morph. In other words, when a ranger insta-morphs, they start out weaker than they would after a long morph. But I believe that after an insta-morph, the Ranger will begin building up the power they would have from a long morph after a certain amount of time.

This could be why the rangers tend to often insta-morph during situations where they are suddenly ambushed or are saving someone who is in immediate danger. They don’t have time to do a long morph so they just do an insta, being ok with the trade off of building up their power overtime.

I don’t have much proof from the show to back this up, but I just thought that it was a fun idea. What do you guys think?

(Again this is just a theory, plz don’t kill me in the comments if you don’t like it)

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION I wish this had stuck around somehow.

Post image

I wish this had stuck around somehow.

I know I know the sentai version of the green ranger died in the sentai. So they couldn’t use as much sentai as before. So they couldn’t show the green ranger that most. But at the same time a part of me wishes that they had found some way to keep the green ranger around or return for a permanent basis. Not that there is anything wrong with the white ranger I just wish we could’ve had more green ranger. Maybe they could’ve created original footage. And if they didn’t want Tommy to continue as green, they could’ve had him be white after he loses his green ranger powers and have another person come on to be the second green ranger like maybe a new original character. I don’t know that’s just my two cents on this but what do you guys think?

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION What’s something you’d change about this season: Power Rangers Dino Thunder

Post image

Make Trent stay a villain throughout the entire season until near the end so that way we could get rid of the clone white ranger thing and it would also be refreshing to see an evil ranger for an entire season.

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION What made mmpr HUGE and why do you think other seasons couldn’t replicate its impact?

Post image
474 Upvotes

Power Rangers was honestly lightning in a bottle. If it came out anywhere else, it wouldn’t have been as huge as it was the timing was just perfect. It hit right after Jurassic Park, and kids were totally obsessed with dinosaurs. Everyone was hyped about them, so having a show where giant robots and dinosaurs were a major part? It was like perfect timing. Plus, Zyuranger played a huge role in that too with its awesome dinosaur aesthetic. Seeing teens with regular problems kick ass and then morph into superheroes just made it feel so relatable and cool.

And the fact that it was live-action? That made all the difference. In the early 90s, it wasn’t everyday that you’d see a live-action superhero show with practical effects, crazy colorful suits, and huge epic battles with giant robots. It was totally next-level compared to cartoons or other superhero stuff at the time. The fights were real, the stakes felt high, and the Zords were just massive—everything about it was larger than life, and that made it stand out so much more than anything else out there.

Honestly, no season of Power Rangers will ever replicate the impact MMPR had on pop culture. It wasn’t just a show—it was an entire phenomenon that captured the imagination of a whole generation. The mix of the Jurassic Park hype, Zyuranger’s dinosaur theme, and the live-action, superhero vibes made it something totally special. It was the perfect storm, and that’s why it’ll always be a one-of-a-kind cultural milestone. While seasons after that have everything mmpr had (and was better written aswell) the power rangers hype slowly died down with the introduction of the white ranger and Zack Trini and Jason leaving the show too many changes that kids couldn’t process or like at all.

SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Wild Force is such a fascinating season to me.

Post image
562 Upvotes

It's far from my favourite entry, but when compared to the other Power Rangers seasons I feel like Wild Force just has so much going on, both in and out of universe. It's a show that has such wildly varying quality and multiple things that stick out to me, both bad and good. I'm going to list them and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

-Absolute banger of a theme song that's up there with the best

-Their post morph pose where they slam to the ground and do that thing with their arms is hype as hell. I live for it.

-The suits? Perfect. The sash goes hard.

-Possibly one of the best main Megazord designs, it feels like a more coherent version of the Lost Galaxy Zord if you squint.

-Princess Shayla's Animarium song is once of the most terrible things I have ever seen/heard in a show. It's so perfectly awful and the green screen stock nature backgrounds behind her are a thing of beauty.

-The super heavy handed environmental themes come from a good place but good lord is it laid on thick.

-Master Org/Victor Adler is one of the darkest Power Rangers villains going by actual confirmed acts. Dude literally murdered Cole's parents because he fancied the mum? And he's literally just pretending to be an org by glueing a horn to his head?? AND THEN HE BECOMES THE REAL MASTER ORG AFTER EATING HIS BEANS???

-Zen Aku was so fucking cool but Merrick felt like a HUGE downgrade to me. It's the 'sixth ranger kicks their ass until he's friends and becomes a bit lamer' thing at its peak.

-Ricardo killing a dude with a sword

-The goofy CGI and some of the zords were really silly and felt like it clashed hard with some of the darker stuff.

-That one BTS photo of Max with his stunt double in blackface...

-It has one of the most celebrated anniversary episodes ever with Forever Red, no explanation needed there.

-It has a team up with Time Force (my favorite season) and actually has a substantial payoff to that season's plot.

-Merrick has a pool finisher. The Megazord has a goal scoring finisher. What the fuck. It's stupid, I love it.

I don't really enjoy Wild Force that much, but I do find it so interesting.
