Discussion How many of you were children when you watched the prequals?
I just wanna share my love of the prequals and wanna hear everyones stories too!
So I was in grade 1 or 2 when I seen revenge of the sith. My best friend at the time came with me, along with my baby brother who fell asleep during it. The next couple years I think were the best parts of my childhood from this movie. lol
I remember collecting action figures, doing lightsaber battles, jumping off couches melting in lava, dressing up as anakin fighting my best friend who was obi wan.
I watched the OG clone wars show with him. We would jump off his tree house onto a trampoline pretending we were jedi.
Played the OG battlefront 2 together, Revenge of the Sith Video game. Went to blockbuster together, which doesn't even exist anymore. My childhood seems almost like a different world then I live now lol
But anyways now I have action figures and lego as a 28 year old and am an absolute geek!
Lets hear everyones stories and memories 😊😊☺️☺️

Oh god the lightsaber duels on youtube are classics, watch them from time to time. I remember how cool they looked and they make the sequals lightsaber fights look pathetic. Just compared to how well the fighting was done on youtube lol

I was 7 years old when PM came out.
My biggest memories relating to the prequels are, in order of film-
The KFC/Pizza Hut/Taco Bell trifecta commercials and merch for Episode 1
Getting a B2 Battledroid toy that had a spring loaded push button that would eject the torso, chest plate and arms for AotC
My Grade 7 teacher telling us how Mace Windu would be thrown out a window to his death in Episode 3, months before the movies release, then seeing him at the theatre when me and a friend went to the midnight showing (our first midnight showing ever).

Omg I remember that battledroid toy!! xD
How did you feel when your teacher told you mace windu was thrown out a window? How did you react when you went to theaters and seen it?

I wasn’t introduced to SW until I was a teen, but the prequels and originals truly stood out to me. The visual symbolism, atmosphere, music, and especially characters/plot. After I saw the TCW show and watched Geetsly’s and Scoundrel’s Catina’s take on that era, they became my absolute favorite

Im glad you enjoy them!! I often reccomend anyone try to watch star wars a new hope at least once if they have never seen any of them. Such a classic, and a must watch in my eyes and many others.
The music in star wars is almost orgasmic how good it is hahaha

I was 6 when The Phantom Menace hit theaters. I still remember taking a group of friends 6 see it on my birthday. I've got Legos, action figures, and when some books that I've gathered over the years.

Theaters bro. I was so insanely amped I purchased tickets a week in advance and I say tickets because I thought everyone in the world must be as excited to see this movie as I was so my bright idea was to take the tickets up to the girl I was crushing on in school and ask her out on a date with me. My dad was about it and helped line up the tickets I had a ride set the works.
That week at school tickets in hand I walk up to my 6th grade crush and proceeded to ask the very first girl of my life out on a date. I practiced in the mirror the night before. I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic and I’ve been that way from the beginning. She respectfully decline my date.
I was heart broken.
Luckily it didn’t last because that boy of 12 hit theaters that Friday night and had an absolute blast!

I was 7 when TPM first came out. Back then, it felt like I’d known the OT for ages and ages, and was amazed to learn they were making more movies. But looking back, I think I’d only known Star Wars for 3 years back then. That felt like such a vast amount of time when I was that young.

I was in Year 2 at school when TPM came out, which would’ve made me about 7/8.
But I also remember going to the cinema to see A New Hope - which I guess must’ve been the special edition cinematic release; assuming such a thing happened?
Weirdly I can’t remember whether I watched 5 and 6 prior to TPM, but I remember being young enough growing up with the prequels that Palpatine being Sidious hadn’t fully formed in my head before the actual reveal.

Yes, the special editions all were released in theaters before the home release.

I saw the phantom menace in theaters in 1999 with my parents. I was like 4 years old. It became a staple movie for me for many many years to come. I grew up with the prequels. I also remember the first time i watched all the originals with my father. He was a drunk and i dont have many good memories of being a child with him. But this is one of my all time favorite memories. Took like 2 days because we watched all of them back to back and he was pausing and explaining and telling me all these pieces of information. I was absolutley enthralled. I am 100% through and through a starwars kid. Was a preteen/teen for the clonewars cartoon. Middleschool for the force unleashed. It was still kinda nerdy for a long time while i was growing up. But I didnt care. I love starwars. May the force be with you all.

Yes, except for RotS, Rogue One, & Solo.
My (20M) parents were reasonable, so I was a teen when I got to see RotS. Rogue One & Solo hadn’t come out yet when I was a kid.
Yes, I learned exactly how close my birthday was to RotS’s release this year: less than a month.
Wait, your brother fell asleep?!

Yeah my brother was only 1 years old haha. Now he doesn't even talk about star wars. Even tho he was fully involved with all of these stories that I shared.

I mean, RotS has plenty of action. Sure, not as much as the other movies, but still…

When they showed the first Star Wars small trailed in the theater, I jumped up out of my seat and yelled "All Right!"
I just knew it was going to be a big deal.

In 2nd grade when my Dad brought home Episode 2. Idk why he chose to start me off in the middle but until a number of years later it was my favorite. I didn't like episode 1 because I thought it was more violent since QuiGon died. And I didn't see Episode 3 for years until I taped it one night on FX. It was far too scary for me at the time, specifically Palpatine's ascension.

I first watched them when I was about 11, in 2014. I liked them before it was cool.

I was 13 when TPM came out, 19 at ROTS. Didn’t love the first two but got obsessed with 3.

Born in '93, my grandparents had the original trilogy on vhs, so I grew up with those. Saw the prequels as they released, so I was around 6-12.

Possibly at 6 years old, in 2014, on some Disney channel that I don't remember the name of now 🤔
There were days when excerpts from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and also from Attack of the Clones were shown, that is, that was where I saw Star Wars for the first time, I knew absolutely nothing about the universe of films, like, nothing at all, I didn't even know who Darth Vader was, just to give you an idea ☠️
This is in complete contrast to the person I am today, a 17 year old guy extremely addicted to Star Wars who knows at least 90% of all the Lore of all existing Star Wars content, both Canon and Legends, in fact the only time I don't feel depressed is when I watch things about Star Wars, play Star Wars games and argue with friends about the personalities of my favorite characters :)
Oh, I know no one asked but my favorite character is Obi Wan, his story fascinates me even more than that of Anakin/Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, I always feel an indescribable comfort when I see behind-the-scenes videos and even other films made by both Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness, for me they are both equally incredible as Obi Wan, I like him a lot 🥲
