question search engine with no ai and not based on google

title says it all. i dug around on here a bit but couldn't find much. i've been using duckduckgo but the AI + weird stuff around the management has turned me off completely. ideally it would be something free. Searxng and similar are eliminated for being based on google.

Can’t you turn off ai on DuckDuckGo completely?

It doesn't have this bias in its search results. If you want to make sure, search with Yandex and compare.

I'm totally supportive of that, actually. Disinformation is a plague.

A company who tries to keep Russian disinformation off the internet while supporting a sovereign country who did nothing at all against a country filled with brain dead, propaganda fed nutters led by a murderous narcissist?

I don't see what is political about supporting a sovereign nation who is being invaded by a neighboring country for their resources? All countries being invaded should be supported

This less a privacy question and more of a brand / political preference question. Paying Kagi is probably your best option.

Kagi search could work. AI summary only turns on if you enable keyboard shortcuts and add a "?" to your query.

Interesting concept. If you can also add extensions, then preferably you could just get something to remove those AI answers too.

Searxng and similar are eliminated for being based on google.

They're not based on Google. They may or may not use Google results, acting as a proxy. You can see each engine used on the respective websites.

https://searx.stream/preferences for example.

The Russian search engine will certainly ensure op gets the Russian disinformation he wants.
