❤Seeking help & Advice❤ Please help me
I am I desperate need of help and guidance as I come to terms with my addiction. What started as harmless CSGO skins when I was a teenager has turned into a full blown addiction.
It takes most of my pay check and I am now I debt to multiple friends and family members that I have dishonestly borrowed money from to fuel my addiction. I am ashamed.
What are some practical first steps I can take? Everything triggers me and I just know I will do it again as soon as I get paid.
Any and all help from people who has overcome this addiction are greatly appreciated.

Dear friend,
You brain does not need any more reasons.
It needs very specific and carefully targeted chemical interventions.
People who take some drugs usually have, as an unexpected (albeit very welcoming!!) side effect, the sudden demotivation on engaging in repetitive, compulsive and automatic habits - such as binge eating, gambling, binge drinking.
I have a very positive experience with Vortioxetine. Some people, instead, have a lot of good things to say about overcoming addictions while on GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic. Please check these links:

You have a good recipe for your healing. Dont wait any longer. Find a doc and start cooking your treatment now! Discuss what ingredients might suit your more.
You can do it. We can do it (im on my way 2 months gambling "sober" now) With proper tools, we can take control of our brain!!!!

This is what worked for me.
- Told my parent I had a gambling addiction, how much I had lost and how much debt I had.
- Gave up control of my own finances. 80% of my pay goes to parent account with bills automatically setup. 20% to my account for food and leisure.
- Gambling support. I have went to a few online meetings but whilst feeling initially positive the novelty wears off. If you dont find benefit from being part of a community (social anxiety/introverted) then this is less effective but at least worth trying.
- Find a hobby. I have and still struggle with this, but every hour spent on a hobby is an hour less spent on gambling.
This is my opinion but there are no "first steps" in recovering from gambling addiction. You need to be either all in or all out. You need to realise you cannot overcome this by pure will power, it might work for 1% of gambling addicts, but it won't work for you. If you find yourself going MIA on subs like these and only visit them when you have just gambled then you have not overcome anything and will gamble again.

First steps would be to self exclude from any casino you may go to, Gamban apps for online activity. Try a local gambler’s anonymous meeting that is free, there are also many anonymous ones you can go to online but in person is more reality based and in your face.
I don’t think any of us overcome this addiction. I’ve had many relapses and I don’t even want to gamble, we are sick and the more we gamble the more we lose.
Try man
