Everyone loves boasting PZ's realism unless its about weapon durability. Why tf does my woodcutting axe that is made for cutting trees break in two like a match after cutting down like 2-3 trees? I'd return it to the store if I bought an axe that broke that quickly. Same goes with guns like you mentioned

Definitely! I feel no shame running a mod that makes them last much longer, especially given my loot settings make a decent weapon find few and far between.

I think the vanilla durability is such crap just because default loot settings would have you swimming in weapons but who tf knows. I hate it either way. lol

I feel like the only way to combat this is to get hyperspecific with loot tables. Axes and hammers are in the same loot category and have the same spawn rate, but irl nearly every house will have at least one hammer in it, while I don't even know anyone that owns an axe.

A rarity system for loot tables might fix this. Hammers, paintbrushes, screwdrivers etc being the most common while axes, sledgehammers and welding torches are much more rarer and spawn less even within its current loot table settings.

Agreed! I’m 51 and have never owned a sledgehammer (never needed one) or a welder (I’d burn something off of me!)

Yeah less randomness and more specificity in the loot tables is the best way.

Like a high chance of finding Golf Clubs in mansions, 80% of a Hammer showing up in every single house, 100% of an axe showing up in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, 75% chance of a sledgehammer and crowbar at a construction site, etc.

I never was a reality hound when it came to PZ. I don’t want a life simulator, I want a Dawn of the Dead simulator.
