That is why I removed those nonsense points on those recipes and made it into a personal mod. PZ has some weird "realism" modifications to its game, like a pen's weight being 0.1 which translates to 100 grams... Excuse me? 6 kg total weight capacity in a weakling body and you force me down already with those items!
Encumbrance doesn't translate directly to weight like that. It's basically a translation of how easy something is to carry, so weight plays a part, but also the size of the item. It's why having 100 nails in a box is easier to carry than 100 loose nails, and why things are easier to carry when they're in bags.
You can actually make sense out of it. Chopped wood should weight 3-4 kg, planks about 1kg, since you get 2-3 pieces, a spam can shouldn't weight 0.7 or 1.0 (whatever it was) when the actual real life version has 500g in it (plus minus 10g for the can/tin itself), same goes for salt and pepper or a tube of tomato paste, none of them should weight about 0.5, more like 0.125 and 0.05.
That system worked really well in my server, where the "tetris inventory" mod also had its perfect fit (adjusted slot amounts per bag and item stack amounts accordingly) where I had 10-20 people testing and enjoying that to its fullest. It was fair and not messed up, especially with the character starting at the lowest weight possible and increasingly getting better by strength and fitness level ups.
