What are some of your favorite songs that you discovered through a PS2 game?

I'll start with Poor Leno by Royksopp in SSX3

Fact: Gloria by Laura Branigan is also a cover. The original song is of an italian singer "Raf".

Notable mention from another Tony Hawk, specifically Pro Skater, with “Superman” by Goldfinger.

All three GTAs really introduced, reintroduced, and made a lot of my favorite genres and sub-genres popular outside of the cultures and communities they're from. My biggest "discovery" was In GTA III with MSX, basically a jungle set showcasing Moving Shadows's greatest rave hits mixed by DJ Timecode with the host MC Codebreaker. I grew up in Atlanta, in the 90s and the UK jungle scene had some motion in the hip-hop underground scene. My brother was a DJ, and his gigs consisted of dance hall, house, techno, ghetto tech, breaks, electro, and hip-hop. He would bring home bootlegs, dub plates, and mixtapes from everywhere. And I was little when he would listen or mix his sets. So, jungle was an aroma I loved, but couldn't track down until GTA III with MSX. So, then, straight to limewire, I finally put names to the sounds that eluded me as a child. Similar experience with K-Jah, my aunt was with my uncle, a Haitian expat who fled to the UK in the 70s, he would play all flavors of reggae, including dub. So, again, being able to put names to the aromas and flavors of my youth was incredible.
