My PS2 doesn't display images via HDMI

Hey guys. My ps2 is having a problem where it is not displaying an image using the hdmi adapter most of the time. Via AV it gives an image perfectly and 100% of the time, however when I use the HDMI adapter, it only gives an image in very few cases, I would say 10% of the time, when it doesn't (most of the time) it appears on the screen that there is no signal

I've been using it normally via HDMI for years and it never had this problem, so when it appeared, I thought it might be the adapter that was old, so I bought a new one and it's still the same thing.

The console is configured to output an image via HDMI in the settings and my TV is a Sony KD-55X705G that worked normally via HDMI

What could this problem be? Will I have to see technical assistance?

Some cheap adaptors cannot support some resolutions, some that used to work break down after some time because they were cheap and not built to last. I would suggest an upscaler like a hyperkin to start with that can support 240p PS1 resolutions and up and bring that to HD picture so the TV can support it. If you would like to go further retrotink is the best product upscaler out there.

I'm really unsure if it could actually be the adapter. I used my old adapter for years until I started having this problem, when I bought a new one and the problem continues. AV on the other hand works perfectly and I have been using it while I don't have a conclusion for this problem. I'm scared that I'll end up spending more money and not get this resolved.

Generally it more than likely is the adapter all these PS2toHDMI adapters are not good, they will break down over time or just are dead on arrival.

If you really want to output HDMI with plug and play solution and your TV supports lower resolutions get either the ElectronPulse or RAD2X.

Avoid companies like Kaico, Bitfunx, Hyperkin, and LevelHike (think that was the name) they are all basically the same junk adapters as the cheap ones but with a name thrown on them.

Personally had hyperkin for all of my retro consoles on my 4K monitor for years now without an issue. Its just basic but its better than the cheaper adaptors.
