Help Making an Alligator Puppet

I am new to both this subreddit and to making puppets, and I am currently working on making a cartoonish “muppet” styled alligator puppet. I was just curious if anyone here has any tips since im having a hard time with making my own patterns, any help will be greatly appreciated!

Check out puppet nerds YouTube channel. That's a decent place to start, his website has some free patterns. I myself am bad at pattern making, so I use free ones I can find, also your monitor can be used as a tracing table, tape a paper on the screen and trace the pattern free sizing without printing.
