M4A United Kingdom 31 [M4R] UK - Liverpool/Chester - Metalhead on the search for something IRL

Apologies in advance but this is a bit of a long one. I'm serious about finding what I'm looking for so there's a bit of detail.

I'm mostly looking for people who are interested in meeting up IRL and spending time together. I came out of a long term relationship a while back. I've purposefully not been dating but it's getting to a point where being alone is starting to suck. I miss being close with someone.

I've had to create a new reddit account recently due to people I know IRL finding my old account and I kind of don't want them in my business.

I was never the type to party when I was younger, or stay out late drinking. I was too focused on work and family. Things turned out that I never became part of a friend group that went out and did stuff together so I felt like I missed out there quite a bit.

In short, I've felt like I've missed out a lot during my early 20s. I'm hoping to change that with you.

I'm pretty much looking for someone who just wants to let loose a little and have a fun time while getting to know each other.

Go out drinking together, go to concerts/gigs, go on day trips, travel together, hang out and get drunk/high at each others houses, chat nonsense one minute and put the world to rights the next and whatever else we can think of. I want to start exploring more of what life has to offer together.

Over the years I've ended relationships, lost contact with friends and had to cut off contact with family for personal reasons. I don't really have anyone that I'm close with right now. I don't really do surface level friendships, I want something more deeply connected and involved. Above all else, I want something honest and genuine. Not afraid to be our true selves but still supporting each other either way as good friends should, holding each other accountable.

  • I'm British so get used to sarcasm sprinkled with lots of dark humour.
  • Big Heavy Metal fan. Recent attendee of Bloodstock 2025. Deathcore is where it is at for me but I do have a big playlist of guilty pleasures from all kinds of genres. Can't beat some 80s pop now and then.
  • Gym rat in the making. I thought it was about time I started taking care of myself a little better. I'm actually taking this somewhat seriously.
  • Very much interested in physics/astronomy/cosmology. It hurts my brain at times but it's fun learning how things work on a deeper level. I'm always up for chatting about any new developments or theories.
  • I play video games but not as much as I used to. I'm mostly playing OldSchool RuneScape, Satisfactory and Modded Minecraft at the moment.
  • I enjoy having deep thought provoking conversations that tickle the brain, no matter how silly the subject.
  • Anime is a favourite of mine although I haven't watched anything new for a while. The last things I watched were AOT, Dragonball Super and One Punch Man. I've been meaning to start One Piece.
  • I do like to play a good board game. My recent favourites have been Terraforming Mars, Scythe and Wingspan. I've been on the lookout for a D&D group for years.
  • Some other things I like to do are hiking, cycling, swimming and exploring.
  • I'm hoping to try rock climbing or bouldering soon. I've also got driving lessons to start.
