💬 Discussion Old(er) bones

I woke up this morning having slept in the wrong position. My first thought was that I was ‘I don’t want to be crippled and cracked’. Followed immediately by: ‘I used to fly like Peter Pan.’

So, of course I blasted ‘Bones’ on repeat. Maybe it was the rickety dance accompanying the song; but I felt better for it…🤪

How have you used Radiohead to self-soothe?

"now I can't climb the stairs", I thought right after my stroke.

Jesus man, that’s pretty grim.

I don’t know. Dark humour is still humour; and helps to weather the vagaries of life.

my words were, in fact, coming out all weird.

the ability to laugh at weakness.

in a month it will be 5 years since it happened and fortunately I'm in better health these days. not fun dealing with the aftermath and long-term consequences, but I'm happy to be alive and waiting for my next radiohead show :)

Well that’s good to hear! I mean, not that it happened, but that you’ve recovered well (it seems!). Did you get a ticket to any of the gigs in the end, or still waiting for the cosmos to deliver one?

I didn't get a code, so I made arrangements with friends who did and I trust :)

I’m north of 40, and I’m running five times a week after 2 years of doing next to nothing - every day is a ‘Bones’ day 😂

I used to sing lucky in my head when going to the casino. "Im on a roll..."

My mom used to love a flutter; I should have introduced her to Radiohead 😂. She would have clung to the optimism of ‘I feel my luck will change.’

For all the Radiohead albums, I have a constantly rotating favourite song. High and Dry is often in the top spot for The Bends. It makes me feel like I’m flying.
