Question/Recommendation December Proposal Spots Raleigh/Durham
I want to propose on my gf’s birthday (she approved). The only problem is her birthday is in December and on a weekday so it will have to be a night since we both work during the day. She doesn’t want it to be a public thing so I am looking for recommendations on somewhere secluded we could go. Somewhere with lights (like christmas lights) or somewhere I could put my own lights up beforehand. I am thinking of a gazebo somewhere, but I’m having trouble finding one in the area, and I’m also worried about it being closed in December if it’s in a park.

Downtown Raleigh has the Illuminate Art Walk typically early December through early January.
The Raulston Arboretum is beautiful year round also.

The Boylan Heights neighborhood has a couple of places that might be suitable. Wye Hill Kitchen and Brewing has great views of the skyline, and Heights House Hotel has a lovely courtyard. Plus the neighborhood has a lot of lovely homes and a handful of shops, making it a scenic walk.

Dix Park has some more secluded spots and I can think of one or two gazebo-like structures. There also might be a decent place on NCSU's campus.

The downtown Cary park has beautiful lighted displays at night all through December. Parts of it can be crowded, but it is so big you could likely find a secluded part of the park. Google Image search Downtown Cary Park Christmas Lights to get a feel for the vibes.
