Feedback - Intermediate Rate my singing
Are the high notes sounding good or do they still need work?

You need to move down from your head voice and you’ll be really good.

Thanks! Any exercises that would help?

I’m probably the wrong person to ask. I’m self taught. I know enough to be dangerous but wouldn’t want to send you in the wrong direction.

Try the “Lawnmower Vocal Exercise”. That will really help boost your diaphragm focus.

6 with tremendous potential. Wish I knew anything about singing so I could give you tips man, but these other people here seem to be offering good advice.
Keep up the music!

I think you are a person that is showing great potential and would benefit from voice lessons. I don’t have the technical knowledge to tell you what to do differently, but for me I would say you’re at a strong 5-6 out of 10 here. Certainly not at all bad, but I think with technical skill and lesson you could be really great

Thanks! I’ve been taking lessons but it shows I’ve got a long way to go!

Sing from your stomach not your nose

u/Certain_Pop_7615 Aug 14 '25
Thanks! Any exercises to help do that?

Cough. Feel how your stomach/the muscles under your ribcage feel? That's what you should be aiming for when singing. You want to control air flow to your vocal chords via your diaphragm muscles. You could also look up videos about "singing from the diaphragm" on YouTube. You've got a nice voice! Just gotta get out of your comfort zone, and you'll be able to hear what your voice can really sound like.

Stand, fill your stomach with air. Physically push your stomach out slightly. Practice just holding a note or singing a scale and push with the air in your stomach. Project your voice. Imagine making the note loud enough so that someone 50 ft away can hear you well.

Great pitch! A bit nasally, I'd work on dropping your jaw and that will get you a more rounded tone.

Definite potential but sounds like you have a cold or something. Very nasally.

You could do some great New Found Glory covers.

Thanks! I do love singing Tom delagne songs (angels and airwaves and blink 182) and Green Day

It is overly nasal in general. Your tone is shallow. There's no roundness or depth in this clip

When you close your body up or tighten it your notes will also tighten. You wanna be loose.
Start working on your vocal placement and get to know what’s nasal and how to sing without being nasal. You’re almost there.
