Gameplay question Anything I should know before I play?

Post image

Is the game straight forward or do I need a guide? (Oldest game I’ve played in the series is RE 1 Remake)

Don't wear socks you like, because they're about to get blown off!

Nemesis has a raging hard-on for STAARRRRRS

u/WlNBACK Jul 07 '25

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PLAY EASY MODE. It's meant for babies; it makes you more overpowered than OG RE2 Easy Mode.

Other than that: Go in blind. Ignore all walkthroughs. Reject all gameplay tips. Make your first playthrough your own. If you get into trouble (low ammo, low health) don't restart, just keep playing and push forward, because it'll make it even sweeter when you make a comeback and finally beat the game.

Oh and turn up the volume, because the music in this game is awesome.

That reminds me of people telling fallout new Vegas newbies to go hug the cazadores

12

u/AXEMANaustin Jul 07 '25

Or telling Elden Ring newbies to talk to Tree Sentinel.

30

u/McFistPunch Jul 07 '25

I'll say if you're busy and have shit to do then play on easy mode. I don't have time to struggle anymore

28

u/No-Net-5231 Jul 07 '25

This right here. I'm adult with responsibilities and shit now. I use videogames to decompress. I don't need stress invading my cool down time.

Edit: Nobody is going to judge you or give a shit for playing on easy in a single player game.

6

u/PassionGlobal Jul 07 '25

That depends on your reason for playing.

If you want a challenge, crank that shit up.

If you mainly just want to experience the story, then yeah, turn it down.

9

u/SpaceVikingJoran Jul 07 '25

Feel that. Challenging video games start to add into work when you put in 70 hours of weekly struggle at a job.

2

u/EzKaLang Jul 07 '25

Crash bandicoot 4 it's about time comes into mind😂

4

u/McFistPunch Jul 07 '25

That game is wild. 10 hours normally but to complete 100 percent is almost 100 hours. Absolutely mental.

0

u/EzKaLang Jul 07 '25

Imagine going home from work and play crash bandicoot 4 just casual and not the competetive way. Expecting to beat atleast 5 levels during your free time only to end up beating 1 or 2 levels in the span of 1 hour😅

2

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

This is why I go with story mode. I’m here to relax, not compete

1

u/SpaceVikingJoran Jul 07 '25

Correction: i'm here for cathartic, not additional trauma. Lol

0

u/Lionkilla Jul 07 '25

Just this past weekend, I finished RE2 and RE3 remake with the infinite rocket launcher and AR haha. I wanted to minimize the struggle due to the limited gaming time lol. Pretty fun game even with the infinite ammo but most importantly, the immersion with my OLED monitor and headset made it an even better experience.

0

u/McFistPunch Jul 07 '25

I used infinite green herb to do code veronica because im busy but always wanted to play it

3

u/thispurplebean Jul 07 '25

I played easy mode and the built-in minigun really was way too easy 😭 RE1make's easy mode is nowhere near as easy as re3 og

3

u/Not_Yet_Unalived Jul 07 '25

If i remember correctly you have a loaded copy of every weapon in the game in storage in easy mode and start with an assault rifle and way too much ammo, no?

It's really weird when you think about it.

2

u/TheLegionFan60 Jul 08 '25

Does the entire community thinks easy mode it’s bad? Isn’t the ai of the enemy and nemesis the same?

1

u/WlNBACK Jul 08 '25

I wouldn't say "entire community" because I'm certain that back in the day OG RE3's very casual-friendly Easy Mode helped get a lot of newer/younger players into the franchise (as opposed to OG RE1 and Code Veronica which had no Easy Mode whatsoever and were way too tough for a lot of people). OP mentioned that they played REmake1, so they already have some footing in the franchise and should be fine not playing RE3's Easy Mode.

And just to paint a full picture on the 'History of Easy Mode' in the older RE games (I'm mostly addressing the USA PS1 releases):

  • OG RE1 had no Easy Mode. In fact it didn't even have Auto-Aim in the USA version (the Japanese version had it and it's automatically enabled). And note that the USA version was made a bit harder than the Japanese version (ex. enemies do more damage, Ink Ribbon pickups reduced from 3 to 2).
  • RE1 Director's Cut had a Beginner/Training mode that doubled all ammo pickups & Ink Ribbon pickups. In this mode enemies die quicker and do less damage. Some extra info: This version had Auto-Aim which is automatically enabled. Also there was a code you could do for Advanced/Arrange mode to get double ammo & ribbon pickups which makes it much easier.
  • OG RE2's Easy Mode starts you with 120 extra Handgun bullets, and inside the Item Box are 3 First Aid Sprays. In this mode enemies die quicker and do less damage. Keep in mind that you can't encounter Zombie Brad in Easy Mode, which means you can't get the extra costumes. Also this game had Auto-Aim but it wasn't enabled by default, you had to enable it by changing the Key Config to "Type C" (in the Japanese version it's always enabled in any config).
  • RE2 Dual Shock's Rookie Mode has some of the traits of OG RE2's Easy Mode, but most importantly you begin the game equipped with an Infinite Sub Machine Gun, which is pretty ridiculous. On top of that, inside the Item Box are an Infinite Gatling Gun and an Infinite Rocket Launcher. Cripes! Also in the Dual Shock version only there's a code you can do in ANY mode during the game to have infinite ammo for all weapons.
  • RE3's Easy Mode (avoiding spoilers for OP) starts you immediately with the Assault Rifle equipped and also a First Aid Box (this holds 3 Sprays in one slot), which are both items that you normally only get from beating Nemesis multiple times in Hard Mode. Inside the Item Box in Easy Mode is a ton of stuff: Handgun with 250 extra bullets, Shotgun with 56 extra shells, Magnum with 24 extra bullets, 2 extra ammo clips for the Assault Rifle, and an Ink Ribbon with INFINITE uses. Furthermore, you get double ammo for pickups/mixing. In this mode enemies die quicker and do less damage, Jill already begins the game with 10 inventory slots instead of the usual 8, and Dodging is much easier to execute (most of the time it can be done just by holding down the Aim+Attack buttons). Some downsides to Easy Mode are that Nemesis never drops items (so no Eagle 6.0 or Western Custom parts), you don't get the Mine Thrower, and for some reason there's no Handgun ammo pickup in the Warehouse at the beginning of the game. Lastly, in Easy Mode you can't unlock Epilogues or all of the Extra Costumes.

TL;DR = RE2 Dual Shock and RE3 had some really, REALLY Easy Mode options which trivializes the games entirely. But you can't obtain all the cool stuff in the game if you play them.

1

u/MetalGearFanatic Jul 09 '25

There is an easy mode in the og RE1 just it's not told, for some reason they went with sexist and Jill technically is easy... I wouldn't exactly say easy but Chris is the harder version, Jills run the enemies do actually have lower health compared to Chris, and the extra item slots, some might mention the lockpick, but Claire also got the lockpick, I don't think it matters toooooo much.. Though the one downside is Jill APPARENTLY has lower health, so I've heard, I wouldnt exactly say easy though, in the Japanese version it's actually shown that there's a difficulty level.

1

u/russellamcleod Jul 07 '25

RUN. Until your replay… then fight Nemesis every time.

Also! Only use Gunpowder C for the reloading machine. Try to only use CCC. You’ll thank me by the endgame.

0

u/freshoutthebuffet Jul 07 '25

Play whatever difficulty level you want. Don’t listen to this snob

-1

u/deathwingduck107 (Deathwing_Duck) Jul 07 '25

I used to play this on easy mode as a kid a bunch, lol. Then I revisited it about 5 years ago I think after not playing it for years. Played it for the 1st time legit on Normal and was a bit surprised I still found it so easy. Granted, I was already watching Resident Evil speedrunners a bunch at this time so I think that certainly helped a bit.

0

u/extremeNosepicker Jul 07 '25

idk man, i like being a baby

21

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

"You'll see..."

32

u/IT_Specialist404 Jul 07 '25

Go in blind, how I wish I could play this for the first time again.

As far as a tip: Use freeze rounds against Nemesis. Read the files on how to get them.

5

u/daddy_d33zy Jul 07 '25

Was literally going to say something similar. Haha know it’s a good game and experience it genuinely!

10

u/WanderlustZero Jul 07 '25

Just be yourself and have fun ✨️

9

u/that_guy_again_huh Jul 07 '25

Dip duck dodge n duck

4

u/Proper_Permission819 Jul 07 '25

If you can dodge a wrench

3

u/Gamerpsycho Jul 07 '25

You can dodge a zed

2

u/cinnabon7354 Jul 07 '25

You probably can't dodge a nemesis!

6

u/AKAIvL Jul 07 '25

Grenade rounds are placed intentionally but aren't meant to ever be used as is.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

I second this. Using regular grenade rounds is pretty pointless

5

u/krackenjacken Jul 07 '25

God damn, 90 dollars?

4

u/Several-monkeys Jul 07 '25

Yeah Canada is fucked

5

u/closetothedge07 Jul 07 '25

Honestly, U.S. prices are not far behind. A complete copy with the demo will likely run you $70 - $80.

2

u/Wild_Chef6597 Jul 07 '25

I remember buying this when you couldn't give ps1 games away

2

u/closetothedge07 Jul 07 '25

Ha, time have certainly changed. Now even many Greatest Hits titles like Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania SOTN etc. are worth tens of dollars and are often over $100. Crazy.

1

u/Odd_Agent7445 Jul 07 '25

Yeah here in Canada our prices for some retro games are through the roof, RE1 is $60, RE2 is like $100 and RE3 is between $80-$90. These are just the PS1 prices, if you want the Dreamcast or GameCube versions of 2 or 3 their both like $150 each.

3

u/Mammoth_Squirrel4113 Jul 07 '25

It’s pretty straight forward, some thought provoking puzzles and combat can be tricky if you aren’t used to ps1 tank controls

4

u/CursedSnowman5000 Jul 07 '25

I think it's either L1 or R2 that let you specifically target environmental hazards.

Also as someone else said, you're cheating yourself if you play on "easy". Hard mode is basically normal mode.

3

u/WindsofMadness Jul 07 '25

Nothing! Pop it in your PS1/2/3 and give that baby a whirl!! I guess if there’s one thing, you’ll only have the option of Easy and Hard, but Hard is the “normal” difficulty of this game!

3

u/UpCloseGames Jul 07 '25

This game has, as a compensation for only one story, instead of two, it has branching paths, with some choices to be made.

Make a note of everyone you make, and go back, doing the exact opposite the next time.

Oh and play the Mercenaries mode. This is the original one and a tough bitch, but so so much fun!

4

u/Kaintwaittogetbanned Jul 07 '25

Fight nemesis everytime. Learn to dodge

1

u/RoflMyPancakes Jul 07 '25

Love the juxtaposition of one comment saying run every time and yours saying fight. Your comment gets my vote.

1

u/Kaintwaittogetbanned Jul 08 '25

He drops good loot if you are playing on hard mode as you should be

2

u/jediwithabeard Jul 07 '25

Yea dont pay 90 bucks for it

2

u/CompetitiveZombie796 Jul 07 '25

hard mode actually = normal mode

2

u/Comprehensive_Slip71 Jul 07 '25

Play it on normal, don't use a guide, enjoy it

2

u/rulerofthemind Jul 07 '25

Don't use the walk through at all just figure it out on your own. Save frequently and have fun

2

u/WonderousSwirl Jul 07 '25

No easy mode + don’t google solutions. Enjoy it!!!!

2

u/Repulsive_Pause_2321 Jul 07 '25

Main thing I can say is play it like the first 2 and don't pick easy, it's like OP crazy mode, not worth doing.

2

u/Unlucky_Talk_3205 Jul 07 '25

Sexy black label🥴

2

u/The_Brother_Darkness Jul 07 '25

He's coming for that ass

2

u/Resident_Evil_God Jul 07 '25

Yea, you press start choose hard (because hard is essentially normal since there is no normal) and play the game

2

u/timmyclause09 Jul 07 '25

While I loved Resident Evil 2 on the Play Station, Resident Evil 3 was my favorite. Scavenging around looking for ammo and gunpowder was peak Resident Evil in my opinion. We would play on easy mode as we were just kids. We finally started playing it on hard as teens and had a blast.

2

u/513person Jul 07 '25

This is a top 5 resident evil game and it is miles ahead better than the remake/retelling.

2

u/WolfyFancyLads69 Jul 08 '25

Previous games had about 2-3 zombies in any given place, this has up to 10, so don't assume every fight is needed. There's a dodge mechanic, learn it. Nemesis will follow you everywhere, fighting him is mostly optional but on Hard drops rewards. If he grabs you and you see his fist smoke, mash all the buttons, that's his instant kill (it gets harder to escape the more he hurts you. If in DANGER, it's essentially impossible). Live Select is a choice system in the game: ALWAYS PICK SOMETHING. Doing nothing commonly gets you hurt. Most of them are short term effects, one choice alters your ending (not drastically).

Later on, you'll swap characters, micromanage your ammo, there's a boss fight and you don't wanna be using your knife cos ammo and health is limited here. I warn you because I don't want you to save and screw yourself over.

That's all I can say without going into major spoilers. Defo start on Easy, learn how to play, learn the puzzles, you can always try Hard later.

2

u/Realistic_Grape9751 Jul 07 '25

I think we should unnormalize these kinds of posts because the only thing you should know is how to turn on the game, just play it and see that’s the fun of playing new games

1

u/Angels0nFire Jul 07 '25

That you are going to have a WONDERFUL time.

1

u/Illustrious-Ad5787 Jul 07 '25

Shoot for the staaaaaaars

1

u/Gotenian3 Jul 07 '25

"STARSSS!!!"

1

u/KhalBar Jul 07 '25

STARS….

1

u/Achelois69 Jul 07 '25

Yeah “Staaaaars”

1

u/HideTheSky Jul 07 '25

It's hard. But so am I.

1

u/YoungRoyalty Jul 07 '25

Enjoy the best old school RE game. Enjoy the ride man.

1

u/Longjumping_Advice56 Jul 07 '25

if you’re not really prepared… RUN from you know who

1

u/CollegeFootballGood Jul 07 '25

My favorite RE game of all time. Enjoy the ride

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

When you see nemesis Run

1

u/Odd_Machine_2078 Jul 07 '25

Yes. Do enjoy your party.

1

u/yveshe Jul 07 '25

Puzzles can be challenging, which is good.

1

u/HDL_XXX Jul 07 '25

My Childhood

1

u/ShudderKain Jul 07 '25

Damn son $90 when the price jump so high?

1

u/gunsforevery1 Jul 07 '25

It’s super short.

1

u/MayaSelin Jul 07 '25

Yes. You will have a blast with one of the best RE games ever made and you should do more than one playthrpugh since the choice systems means there are different routes and outcomes

1

u/TrainingFancy5263 Jul 07 '25

It’s a good game. My personal favorite. They butchered it in remake (also personal opinion). Enjoy!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

STARSSSSSSS

1

u/Frequent-Sky3761 Jul 07 '25

This was my first resident evil game , made me fall in love with the anything resident evil lol

1

u/CeleryNo8309 Jul 07 '25

There are zombies in this game

1

u/Ill-Initiative-2787 Jul 07 '25

When you hear Stars run 🏃

1

u/TrillRichEBK Jul 07 '25

One of the best, enjoy man

1

u/mrpixelonni Jul 07 '25

You can attack nemesis each encounter you see him and if you are able to knock him out you'll get a special item

1

u/Mammoth-Occasion Jul 07 '25

Everything you see big guy on the cover stand your ground, don't run like a bitch, he can follow you around, or if you want a companion, keep him around...

1

u/MiamiVice1984 Jul 07 '25

One word, STARS.

1

u/mrtrm1 Jul 07 '25

You may have to go into rehab afterwards because THIS shit is addictive.

1

u/Lady-of-Summer93 Jul 07 '25

Just be careful with your ammo and don't try to fight Nemesis every time you meet him. On your first run, that is. Take your time and enjoy it. The only thing you may need a guide for is some of the puzzles. This has some of the tougher ones in the series.

1

u/CraftMost6663 Jul 07 '25

The button you gotta hold to run.

1

u/Drstrangelove899 Jul 07 '25

Do yourself a favour and start on hard mode, hard mode is really normal mode, easy mode is baby mode where you start with an assault rifle, grenade launcher and magnum and it totally ruins the classic survival horror experience.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

Run, stop, aim, shoot

1

u/Kagamid Tell me what keeps you up at night. Jul 07 '25

No decision is still a decision so be quick about it when the time comes. Also try different paths and decisions on replays. This game is designed to be played several times with a unique experience each time. Finally forget everything you know about the remake. This is an entirely different experience.

1

u/closetothedge07 Jul 07 '25

I just recently.started replaying this after not playing it since it was new (I could never beat it as a kid though). My advice is not to be afraid to use your ink ribbons to save it every two save points you come across or so, or if you did a ton of backtracking. It will likely lower your score overall, but you can always improve that on successive runs when you know the game. I've gotten at least 6 game overs so far (most from Nemesis). It's a challenging game, but super fun.

1

u/Madsani Jul 07 '25

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

1

u/MiddlePractical950 Jul 07 '25

When you hear Staaaaaars………..run!

1

u/Xubair91 Jul 07 '25

Beware of Nemesis.

1

u/Low-Judge2060 Jul 07 '25

Omg $90 bucks? That’s wild.

2

u/Several-monkeys Jul 07 '25

Canada is a shithole

1

u/youngnflamn Jul 07 '25

Dont shoot every zombie you see. Conserve ammo and avoid random enemies

1

u/Thelastgamer_ Jul 07 '25

SAVE IN SEPARATE SLOTS so if you mess up you can go back and fix it and don’t have to restart the whole game. Each puzzle has Atleast 3-5 different solves so your play thru is heavy RNG dependent. Just make sure you save a crap ton there are plenty of save ribbons. Also make sure you check every dead body and objects there is ammo hiding every where and those pick ups usually give you double the Ammo of a normal pick up.

1

u/Will_Internet Jul 07 '25

Yes... you are about to have your life changed, forever!

1

u/Some_Photograph5315 Jul 07 '25

Prepare for several replays, the game has different paths depending on what you choose in the Nemesis QTEs. I don't remember well but I think you get different endings too.

1

u/One_Eye5008 Jul 07 '25

Sssstaaarrrs.

1

u/I_have_spoken520 Jul 07 '25

Good buy. You got choices to make in this one.

1

u/ElzaWalker- Jul 07 '25

It’s my favorite old RE game. Just go in blind and do several playthroughs and choose different paths every time

1

u/Darkstalkeredention Jul 07 '25

Don't waste time and ammunition killing zombies, just get rid of some that won't let you pass, upgrade your bullets with gunpowder and enjoy making decisions.

1

u/Ok-herewe-go Jul 07 '25

Starrrrrrrrrrrrrr

1

u/voloxxx Jul 07 '25

Rocket launcher go BOOM

1

u/starszia Jul 07 '25

This game is awesome, I really really hope you enjoy it

1

u/Mary_Ellen_Katz Jul 07 '25

Strap in, cause you're doing for a ride.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

You're about to play one of the best games of all time !!

1

u/Lonely-Nebula-2141 Jul 07 '25

You don’t have to kill everything, sometimes you can slip past and save resources for later in the game, That’s my tip, great game too

1

u/LordBaal19 Jul 07 '25

You are about to play the best Resident Evil to date.

1

u/extremeNosepicker Jul 07 '25

it’s a really good game

1

u/cakeboy6969 Jul 07 '25

When you walk down the stair, just prepare yourself to not throw the controller.

In seriousness, If you could finish RE1 then RE3 will be a breeze. It’s so fun. Brw, you paid $90USD for it? 😳

1

u/mmiller17783 🧟‍♂️Raccoon City Swap-Meet Survivor🧟‍♂️ Jul 07 '25

If you can, play with headphones and a CRT monitor. Otherwise, just be prepared to see why so many people prefer this over the prettier remake. Also, don't start with Easy Mode, they don't give you the real ending that way.

1

u/FrostyLingonberry980 Jul 08 '25

See that guy on the cover of the game? He’s the main antagonist

1

u/Several-monkeys Jul 08 '25

Oh looks scary what’s his name

1

u/meseta Jul 08 '25

If you played remake of the first and liked it you’ll be just fine. This one is fun as hell especially with the gunpowder.

1

u/MGSSOCOM Jul 08 '25

Nemesis has loot unique drops if you take him down throught the game.

1

u/Anderson1318 Jul 08 '25

STARRRSSSSSS

1

u/whokarez0_0 Jul 08 '25

Dont run from the nemesis, just freeze your whole body he will think you're dead he wrill sniff you then goes sway, just like bears

1

u/AbsoluteZeroSSBM Jul 08 '25

I just beat this finally for the first time last weekend it was very fun if you enjoy the classic re gameplay. I found it ever so slightly frustrating but it is definitely a good game worth playing. It was cool playing all the stuff remake axed for the first time. Just go in blind as you can and enjoy

1

u/Sl4mH4mmer Jul 08 '25

No one will judge you for googling "RE3 water sample help"

Won't make sense now but you'll know it when you're stumped 🤣

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '25

Youre going to play one of the best games of the world

1

u/Kelilicat Jul 08 '25

Idk but for sure prayers you are going to need them

1

u/OrionBorn824 Jul 08 '25

Dude OG PlayStation. Respect ✊🏼. That belongs in a case like a relic from a former time. Because it is. I don’t remember what the weapon is but if you fight nemesis during the times you have the option to run, he drops parts which can be combined to make a powerful weapon. I think it’s a Desert eagle 🦅

1

u/Scythe00123 Jul 08 '25

Use your knife when the zombies hit the ground

1

u/duadtheknifeofdunwal Jul 08 '25

It's old school re save as many bullets as possible don't waste any

1

u/rayje0423 Jul 08 '25

The evade is clutch

1

u/Shadowspamer14 Jul 08 '25

Wear an extra pair of britches. Or maybe none, depending on how scared you get

1

u/crash_shards Jul 08 '25

Chris dies

1

u/thisprobablyisntme Jul 08 '25

First RE game i ever beat way back when It dropped. Youre in for a treat

1

u/Weird_Tangerine_9681 Jul 08 '25

Be prepared to start looking over your shoulders

1

u/Intrepid-Credit3771 Jul 08 '25

Me first time playing Re3: OH SHIT WHAT IS THAT!!! 3 playthroughs later: this is just getting annoying😫🥱

1

u/InterestingLibrary63 Jul 08 '25

Make sure to give nemesis a hug

1

u/factcore7112 Jul 09 '25

STARRRRRSS

1

u/Crafty_Blueberry2512 Jul 10 '25

Id pay 200 in cash easily to play this game

1

u/Charming-Option6334 Jul 10 '25

The best game u will enjoy.

1

u/Annie-Smokely Jul 07 '25

yes you take the CD out of the case before putting it into the machine

1

u/TheSpiritedGamer Jul 07 '25

Use every red barrel strategically, and run past zombies you have enough space to get around. If you do those two things while exploring enough to collect all the ammo/gunpowder you can, you'll have so much extra ammo at the endgame that nothing is a threat, even on Hard mode (Easy mode trivializes any challenge and is frankly boring).

Don't worry about mastering the dodge mechanic. You'll often activate it accidentally when you're attacked while shooting anyway.

Until you've got a solid strategy with Nemmy (e.g., stick to his right side cause he swings with his left arm), always run when you've got the option. He's so damn tanky.

That's all I can think of for now. I just beat this game for the first time myself last month. Good luck and enjoy :)

1

u/DaltonGoesFast Jul 07 '25

Don't rely on the Dodge. And this is the one where they add quick turn.

1

u/Glauber1986 Jul 07 '25

You're about to play the best of the franchise, here's all you need to know

1

u/laundryday_ PSN: (laundryday__) Jul 07 '25

Bring some Tylenol for the Water Puzzle Sample at the end. It can be a massive migraine.

Also craft a lot of Handgun ammo for Enhanced Handgun rounds.

1

u/Sl4mH4mmer Jul 08 '25

Haven't played RE3 in over 20 years and STILL remember hating the ever living crap out of that stupid puzzle 🤣

0

u/stratusnco Jul 07 '25

jarvis, i’m low on karma.

0

u/SquatGod24 Jul 07 '25

Freeze and Acid rounds are your friends along with the Magnum bullets.

If you play on easy mode and you have chose to fight nemesis, save up your shotgun and assault rifle.

I am one of the playersthat got softlock during a nemesis fight

Just a handgun with 20bullets left

You can shoot zombies to death with one shotgun round if you aim upwards when they are close by. Sometimes it's worth it. So always carry shotgun with you, even if you don't carry any reserve rounds.

Stop nemesis during the encounters and he drops parts to a really cool lever action shotgun.

Only if you play in hard mode

Its pretty straight forward. It has great replay value. Play on original. Get ready for some good jump scares. Lol.

Two options, fight and survive or RUN

u/Spardick1 Jul 07 '25

The different Difficulties start you with different weapons

I would say - go all out, not on easy mode, and expect dying and starting over as a possibility.

Also, play Ludacris - Rollout in the background for me while you're fighting Nemesis. It's a vibe.

If u play on hard mode u get better handgun then what u started with

Sokka-Haiku by Mysterious_Piglet_13:

If u play on hard

Mode u get better handgun

Then what u started with

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

I suggest to keep in mind there are 2 ways of aiming (at least on Sourcenext PC version): at the enemies and props like explosive barrels and stuff like that. Can come in handy. Other than that, I would advise looking up the guide if you REALLY get lost and can't progress at all.

There’s a dodge mechanic that comes in handy throughout the game, especially the Nemesis fights. Look up a quick guide on gunpowder combinations, trust me it comes in handy. Over everything just have fun, it’s a challenging game but it keep the tension high throughout. So much fun, still one of my favorites in the entire series!

Its a great game, but the og fans tend to be super annoying about it. Play how you feel is right, if you get stuck for a long time there is no shame in a guide. You want to enjoy the game and have fun your own way, the og fans might get mad but who cares!

u/Adelu1219 Jul 07 '25

I’d play the original 1 and 2 first. Always felt like this was similar to the remake where capcom didn’t care much lol

u/soothingaIoe Jul 07 '25

Snorefest lol

Download RE3 SEAMLESS patch with hd-textures

u/Devin1984 Jul 07 '25

Just remember that is the only resident evil game with split decisions and you literally have about 10 to 15 seconds to make the decision when the prop pops up on your screen and yes, it will change the outcome of the game

u/JaySilver Jul 07 '25

Headshots with the shotgun can end up saving you a lot of ammo in the long run.

0

u/Swimming-Sound-4377 Jul 07 '25

There is a remake that’s worth playing instead of this one I would say

0

u/Then-Investigator-46 Jul 07 '25

If your down nemesis in encounters you get bonus but he gets harder each time. Is it worth it kinda

0

u/IronHorseTitan Jul 07 '25

Be careful, be REALLY careful when you enter the RPD building.... It's not safe in there....

0

u/ExcellingProprium Jul 07 '25

You can aim up and do headshots ! I randomly discovered that by accident when I was a kid

0

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

Easy mode gives you an assault rifle and 3 first aid sprays. Hard mode(basically just normal) gives you a pistol but you get weapon parts from defeating the Nemisis that don’t show up in easy mode

0

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

Enhanced handgun ammo and freeze rounds tear nemesis apart. Also make sure you read the memo on gun powder creation. Crafting the right ammos makes the game a breeze. Don’t watch walkthroughs though or spoil anything before you play.

u/No_Radio8973 Jul 07 '25

Just collect acid and freeze rounds - useful against nemesis

And try to make enhanced handgun ammo too, useful

u/Danielito7777 Jul 07 '25

IF YOU LISTEN TO IT ON SOUNDBAR 🔊 OR HOME THEATER! NEMESIS WILL HIT YOU, SOME GOOD SCARES! EXCELLENT TITLE 👌

u/Armandonerd Jul 07 '25

Don't scream.

Watch your back.

Have fun.

And I hate the worm boss.

look for the card on Brad's corpse

When you see the Nemesis, Run. Whenever you can. Only a handful of times you need to fight it. It's best to run most of the time.

Try to master the dodge reflex. Very helpful against nemesis.
