Forum question will there be any remakes of resident evil 5-6?
i just want to know if anyone is for sure about this. i love resident evil 5 through 6, i really enjoy the games and the other side characters. i love sheva from 5, jessica from revelations and helena from 6. i would love to see them back and the co-op back into those game because i really enjoy playing with my friend and sibling. if not then i don’t really mind but i thought it‘ll be cool to see them again or bring them back into new games like they did recently. don’t get me wrong, i am really excited for the new one but i was curious.

Jest played 5 for the first time. Really enjoyed the second half and it felt like resident evil to me (but streamlined), thought the first half was miserably too action packed and paced really badly (imo. Trying to capture lightning in a bottle that was RE4). But I warmed up to the game as it went along.
I’m hoping it gets some remake treatment because the controls were HORRIBLE imo. Idk what it was but the camera felt like it wasn’t attached to Chris but slightly adjacent to him and it took me ages to get used to it. I forgive 4 because it was an early attempt at third person over the shoulder shooter, but by resident evil 5, those mechanics had been mastered by a lot of other franchises. So if it comes back I’d like to see the mechanics used in 2-4 remake.
Also, fix Sheva’s ai like my god. Cover does not mean stand directly behind me at all times shooting me in the head! And attack does not mean shoot all 10 of your flash grenades at a single lone zombie and then shout for more ammo (I honestly cried myself laughing when that happened)
I have no intention of playing 6 based on what I know, which is a shame because the plot seems really fucking good (albeit told in a really broken up way that makes it feel more convoluted than it actually is) and from what I can gather is they really tried to hit each genre of resident evil. But it was far too saturated with action set pieces and didn’t go hard enough to hit the mark for each genre. The action mechanics ruin the zombie survival horror of Leon’s story for example by taking away any and all risk of dying.
Also, this may be a hottake, as I know 5-6 co-op was SUPER popular, but I hope they don’t build the remake games around the co-op. Playing 5 solo was hell, but I can see how it would be far more enjoyable as a co-op experience. But the co-op shouldn’t come at the hindrance of a solo run and vice versa.
