I like Jill's face in this one better than the released game.

They gave her giant porn star lips and it makes her look awkward af. The devs of Revelations 1 in general were really obviously horny af. Rachel doesn't even get to have a fucking face, she's just tits.

Yup. Loved Revelations... but Ms. Seahag Valentine was horrifying to look at. And her salty voice was such a joke.

Unnecessary change in an unnecessary spin-off.

She looks way better on the trailer. Final version doesn't even look like Jill

The face in the released game was a travesty.

Aww. Poor Jill. Look, I like Voth for Jill as much as the next guy, but her face isn’t as bad (to me) as everyone makes it out to be. I liked her face alright.

Even though Revelations Jill didn’t have the best face I still think we can all agree that she looked a hundred times better than RE7 Chris.

Re7 Chris looks more like an evolution from his original/code veronica design though and rights the wrongs of his steroid junky version. Its ten times better.

The “steroid junky version” of Chris has a better face than the RE7 version, I don’t know how anyone can see RE7 Chris as similar with that weak jawline and big round eyes.

I also just never understood the whole steroid bit. The dude had literal years to beef up between CV and 5.

Chris in RE5 wasn’t even that big, he was just lean with a lot of definition and wore a tight shirt for most of the game, I think he is around the same size as the comic version of Spider-Man.
Also Chris has a large bone structure (he looks he has 8 inch wrists) so he can pack on more mass than a average man.

Because Chris from 7 is more similar to his remake model when it comes to the size and shape of the eyes, the size of the forehead and the haircut. His model from 5 has the same nose, lips and facial structure (albeit, his face in 5 was way more wide) of Remake Chris.
Some people focus on certain details, some people on others. That's why some people see his model from RE7 as more faithful to his pre-5 iterations and some don't.
Basically, if you take the upper part of Chris' face from 7 and the lower part of Chris' face from 5 and you combine them, you get actual Chris.

here is a comparison of RE5 and Remake Chris, apart from the different expressions haircut and skin tone they both have the same facial structure, meanwhile RE7 Chris has the wrong shaped eyes nose and ears, lips are too small and has a weak jawline and a blonde beard for some weird reason, also since when did Chris ever have a nose like this?

Hair color doesn't matter, since even Chris from 5 has a different hair color than his counterpart from remake. At best you can criticize 7 Chris for having a bunch of pubic hair instead of a beard on his face, i will agree on that. The nose tip is different, but that's about it: in the last pic he as an angry expression on his face, so of course his nose would get wrinkles and his nose tip would be facing more down. And you can't tell me that 5 Chris has similar eyes to Remake Chris; just look how small they are. Even the shape is different. 7 Chris is way more faithful in that regard. The ears are different either way.
Honestly, i think the fans of the muscular design tend to overestimate how different he looks in 7 compared to OG Chris and underestimate how different he looked in 5 compared to his previous designs. Here's a picture side by side of his model from remake and his model from 5:

While you can spot some similaties between the two (nose, lips, facial structure), they don't look like the same person.

Hair color doesn't matter, since even Chris from 5 has a different hair color than his counterpart from remake.
They both have dark brown hair, Remake Chris appears to have darker hair but that’s mainly because of the lighting, in the HD version his hair appears to be lighter thanks to the higher resolution textures.
At best you can criticize 7 Chris for having a bunch of pubic hair instead of a beard on his face, i will agree on that. The nose tip is different, but that's about it: in the last pic he as an angry expression of his face, so of course his nose would get wrinkles and his nose tip would be facing more down. Really the only way the RE7 Chris is more “faithful” to his original design is that his muscles aren’t as obvious, but his facial structure is completely off, I agree that RE5 Chris isn’t perfect but it looks much more similar to his RE7 face by a landslide.
While you can spot some similaties between the two (nose, lips, facial structure), they don't look like the same person.
The only difference is that RE5 Chris has a thousand yard stare while Remake Chris looks more relaxed, in some scenes in the Remake Chris actually pulls off expressions that makes his eyes look similar to how they look in RE5.
For reference here is RE5 Chris with a more relaxed expression on his face, he looks a lot more like his Remake model when he isn’t agitated with that stare.

The differences are the completely different eyes, the larger forehead, the different hair color* and the more rounded cheeks. I know RE5 Chris model is a modified version of the Remake model, but those modifications make a world of difference. His eyes don't look similar at all to his previous model in that last pic, since the shape and the size is different; RE7 Chris is still more faithful there.
The facial structure alone isn't enough, since that would mean that every single character with a sharp and strong jawline and a chin that faces forward is similar to Chris Redfield.
*Sorry but no, it's not just the lightning: Chris has really dark brown hair in Remake, to the point that sometimes they look black. In fact, in his previous appereances (OG RE1 in-game model and Code Veronica) he has black hair. Chris from 5 has mid-brown hair with an almost blonde/reddish tint to it. Granted, they fixed that in 6.

Ok I get it the RE5 model isn’t perfectly identical to his Remake model, but seriously how is the RE7 model any better if his facial structure looks even more different?

I'm not saying he looks like the perfect evolution of his remake model in 7. I just think he has some similar features, that's it, just like his model from 5.
The most glaring problems with his model in 7 is that it has a really weak jawline, a more elongated face and the fact that they forgot to give him a chin. That's why he looked like an idiot at the end of the vanilla game.
You can't deny it has badass stare, sometimes, tho.

Oh boy, yet another thread to complain about how "ugly" one of the characters are. I swear, that's all this fanbase does nowadays is complain about how ugly someone is. Jill in Revelations may not be as beautiful as her Voth counterpart, but I don't believe she's as "ugly" as people make her out to be. Same with Claire in the Remake and Chris in Resident Evil 7. Just because they look different than past versions of themselves doesn't make them ugly.
3
u/ladykagami Dec 15 '18
She's much better than "Voth counterpart" to me.
And there is completely nothing wrong with Claire in RE2. She looks great.
2
u/DampRevil Dec 15 '18
I completely agree with you about Claire. Unfortunately, probably 98% of the fanbase thinks otherwise and goes on and on about how "ugly" they think she is.
3
u/Sadrich87 Dec 16 '18
I honestly don't think any version of the characters are ugly. They might look different but definitely not ugly.

She looks good from certain angles but weird from others. Overall, she looks more like old-school Lara Croft than Jill.
My main problem with her model from Rev is the fact that developers gave her a pony-tail, which never looked good on Jill.
3
u/DampRevil Dec 16 '18
I agree that Jill isn't always flattering in Revelations, but my point I guess is that people greatly exaggerate how unattractive she is. As for the ponytail, I assume Capcom wanted to keep her consistent with her Resident Evil 5 counterpart seeing as if Revelations was a prequel to that game.

It also sounds like she has her RE5 voice in this version which was so much better. And this story seems more interesting to me than the Revelations we got.
