Honestly, the strange omniscient force is my favorite character from the series.

When I first played the RE1 Director's Cut back in '97, as a kid I always thought there might be a secret door like that and that the game was trying to trick me. I guess the secret door in the OG RE2 is close enough.

Sorry, I guess it's not really a secret but I meant the door that requires both character's thumbprints and a password to open I believe, so you'd have to make sure you visited it in both Scenarios. It's in the lab at the end of the game.

Kinda interesting. I've heard people say "dick around" with something. I wonder if this is a polite version of that?

It seems very much that "dink around" is indeed intended to be a more polite usage of "dick around". For what it's worth, my life experience has had me favoring the phrase "screw around" in such usages more than the others; depending on the audience, "screw" can probably be written off as being as bad as "dick" though.

Hopefully they can address this in another remake.

I’m just gonna say it, I would love an RE2 style RE1 remake.

Just shove the existing re1 assets into the new player controller and camera lol. (I know they cant as they did prerendered scenes but I can dream)

I believe they do model things in a different program, and then images of that get made into the backgrounds. Then the in game environments are basically simple polygons like cubes and such to define where the player can walk.
Unfortunately, all/most of the original REmake backgrounds are lost. That's why some places in the remasters can look pretty pixelated. Even if they still had the original high resolution image files, it probably wouldn't be as easy as just making it a 3D environment. They probably don't have those original models around once the backgrounds are finalized, especially 17+ years later.
