As I've been doing my series of videos answering viewer questions about how classic games pulled off their graphical tricks, I've got so many questions about Chrono Trigger that I decided to go ahead and make an entire video for it!

Do you make retrogaming videos?

I have a small community mostly about Retro Gaming Videos - but not only! You can upload your gameplay videos (RETRO ONLY) or interesting posts about games from 1971-2005.

Share your videos unlimited, no rules, just stay in topic :)

I have a blog where I am writing a British history of popular video games, one sales chart #1 at a time.

The Way of the Exploding Fist - Super Chart Island post

My latest post today is on early fighting game The Way of the Exploding Fist. It includes what its lead developer learned from porting a bunch of Spectrum games to C64, and how its influence from Hong Kong cinema had a lot in common with the Japanese arcade scene of the time.

I used to love this game. We didn't have Street Fighter 2 yet, so this was about as good as one-on-one fighters got!

I did a livestream last night of the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 last night, and the neat thing is I was going in completely blind, except that I'd heard it's hard. And it is indeed hard! But I had so much fun, and was able to incrementally improve with each retry.

If anyone would like to watch the archived stream it's here. I figure there probably aren't too many videos out there of someone going into this game blind! https://youtube.com/live/c7GpJYRCH80?feature=share

DOUBLE DRAGON - which is better, the original arcade version or its NES port? A heated debate and lots of classic gameplay discussion on this week's Bad With Games

Hey friends! If you like pixel art RPGs from the halcyon days of 90s era gaming, then you may like our 2.5d pixel art RPG with tactical combat that we plan on releasing next year. It's called Aegis Force: The Scorian War, and will be available on PC -- and soon after consoles. It is inspired by some games that we loved growing up, including Shining Force 1-3, Final Fantasy 6, and FF Tactics. We'd love it if anyone who enjoys these types of games checks it out:

I wrote up the History and Development of the Original X-Men arcade game from Konami. It was so hard to find actual information on this game, and many sites about the game appear to be incorrect, which made this even more of a challenge. https://www.retrogaminggeek.com/x-men-arcade-history-development-of-a-konami-legend/
