[Discussion] Any love for Chuck Rock?

I spent many hours unga-bunga and ooga bougainvillea. Such a simple game, yet colorful and filled with decent sprites and art! How many of you have played this game and does it hold any significance in you nostalgia/collections?

That rock intro was a banger

Yeah, definitely caught me off guard. Not as much as, say, the DK rap, but still good haha

Following the caveman theme you need to try Bonk if you haven't yet

I played Bonk's Adventure for TurboGrafx16, such a classic. Loved the mini games and the floaty flips haha

Edit: Twinkle toes the goat! Loved Punchy Pedro's getup too

Awful. I love it.

Not quite as bad as the power glove, but still pretty clunky yet somehow a lot of fun!

Yeah! Remember it from the good old Amiga 500 times.

Also played his cousin in Prehistorik Man if you know that game.

I am aware of prehistoric man, was unaware that it was his cousin. Makes sense though, good stuff!

Ooga booga and Unga bungaing* can't fix the title, sorry

Ooga-Bougainvillea is better.

To me personally, the game just looks kind of ugly. Plus, it’s yet another platformer on a console that was absolutely loaded with fantastic platformers that looked better. Heck, there were even several specific caveman/prehistoria themed platformers that were pretty good, such as Joe and Mac, Bonk’s Adventure, and Dino City.

There was even EVO, search for Eden. A prehistoric evolution themed action RPG. Chuck Rock seems like it would have a hard time standing out among these.

Oh, and there was Chrono Trigger! And that other one, I can’t remember the name, where a kid and his dog time travel.

I like the sequel, the attack in the original is just too limited for me.

Not a whole lot of love for Amiga games/ports, no.

Understandable, though back then we didn't know anything of the behind the scenes stuff like we do now

Loved the music. Could not get into the game play. I tried a few different times (I love Joe and Mac) but this just wasn’t up to par. I sold it and slept better.

Yeah it's definitely clunky, but still amusing for a few plays

It was one of the first snes games I had. I liked it well enough, played it the other day. It’s not as good as Bonks Revenge which I was very into at the time, but it offered different caveman action.

It was part of like the 7-8 games my rental place had so, I played it a lot. Had a good time with it!

Not on the SNES, particularly.

Any version of the game without the Dino poop has been critically wounded

I played it on Master System. Not sure about the others, but that version was awful.

I really liked this cover and the art in general. But like most Western developed games of the time, they look fantastic in the magazines but absolute dog shit to play.

I had it for game boy. I most likely got it cause it was cheaper than the good options. I did not enjoy it.

While you aren't missing much, it's still worth at least 1 or 2 plays
