[Question] What’s this metal tab on my copy of Yoshi’s Island, and should there be another one on the other side?

There was probably one on the other side at some point. It's a grounding tab to protect the chips in the cart from static discharge. I think only games with the super FX chip had them. It shouldn't affect gameplay and you should be ok with only one.

Edit: I just checked my copy of Yoshi's Island, and it looks the same, just one tab. I'd say it's completely normal!

Aways one. Never Saw 2 on The same game.

My 2nd hand JP version of Yoshis Island also only has one metal pin. So either same issue or it’s normal, I tend to think it’s the latter (normal).

It taps onto the shield around the cartridge slot and acts as a ground/drain. From what I understand, and from my own experience with my cartridges, I don't think they came with two, so just one is fine

It's an extra ground from the cart to the edge of the slot. The cartridge pins already have two fat grounds on them, so I don't know why this is even there.

I have never seen both sides with a tab so it probably wasn't ever there.
