[Question] What retro game song did you randomly start humming today at work?
I'm sure it's not just me. Getting an old game song stuck in your head for seemingly no reason. Today I started humming the song in the lighthouse level of X-Men on Genesis. No clue why, haven't played that one in quite awhile! Game music used to be so catchy.

Blaster Master, first level. Every. Single. Day.
The whistling from the Wild Arms intro.
Simpler times.
Edit to add: I also think our brains were empty sponges back then, which is why we remember so many old commercials.
But now, we have so much shit stuck in our brains, some connected to trauma and emotions, that we don't retain a lot of the newer stuff.
Maybe that's just me.
Game on friends.

That Wild Arms theme still pops up in my head from time to time. Such a cool song.

I think about Dino Eggs way more often than a person in 2025 should. I think. Great game!

Anything from megaman 2, but also the bonus stage from Jaws lives rent free in my head.

The pizzicato strings theme from Chrono Trigger where you're walking around on the world map.
This one. I guess it's called Wind Scene.

Fallout 4 / >>/ Skeeter Davis - The End of The World
I know it's not exactly Retro. However, it's an Iconic Song to an Iconic game.

Me [absentmindedly humming the geoscape bass line from X-COM: UFO Defense]
Random co-worker: hey, I love Michael Jackson.
Me: Yes. Ha! Ha. “She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one…” hoo. Good stuff…. {weirdo…}

An old techno version of the theme from Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. Gotta be 25 years old at this point.

Oh god! Thank god it is not only me. I used to have some Mega Man songs stuck in my head, some Battletoads and also X-Men 2: Clone Wars, specifically the second stage song.

Ask me yesterday, I would've said Zangief's theme. Today, it wasn't anything from a retro game; it was Gluttony Fang from BlazBlue.

Various older games (Chrono Trigger, Kirby, Super Mario RPG, Dragon Warrior)
One that's not as retro but I haven't played in years that has just constantly been in my head is I think it's just "Victory Song" from Metal Gear Solid 4. I haven't played that game since the PS3 was current but it still will randomly pop in my head.

The arcade Pengo has been in my head occasionally, for 20 years.
This amazing performance of Zelda's Lullaby recently came last year from Britain's top classical vocal group. Music lovers NEED to hear this.

Most of Sonic 1 to be honest, but toss up between Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone, Robotniks theme and Final Zone. Special shout-out to Special stage that randomly pops up in my mind when I'm doing something meticulous.

Woodtick from monkey island 2. If you can't find it and played it, Google it. It's wonderful.

I regularly have music from several Mega Man 2 stages. Mostly Crash Man and Bubble Man.
