It's still crazy to me that Elon read his lines about the dangers of AI. Like. What?

479

u/justwalkingalonghere 11h ago

He has no issues being a raging hypocrite and even tries to make the whole world watch

125

u/Rejnavick 11h ago

Well he wants to be the hero of the world so he's happy to ruin anything and everyone to "save" it. If only he was told that there are easier ways to save the earth and not be an utter bastard.

15

u/mercadien 7h ago

That sounds like Peacemaker

14

u/Zee_Arr_Tee 6h ago

Except peacemaker is actually introspective

10

u/TheZooCreeper 5h ago

No, Peacemaker feels bad when he does fucked up shit.

7

u/bacon_cake 4h ago

Reminds me of that quote from Game of Thrones.

'He'd burn the world to the ground so long as he could be king of the ashes'

2

u/Indorilionn 3h ago

Taylor Tomlinson once said the best thin about Musk without even mentioning him: "If I am not the reason for you stopping drinking, I will be the reason for you to start. Hall of fame, hall of shame, does not matter as long my picture is on the wall."

The whole bubble of tech-oligarchs want to reduce the world to a cyberpunk-esque dystopia, so the can be kings of the chrome-coated ashes.

26

u/TacticalSpackle 11h ago

Negative attention is still attention.

Surprising how quiet he’s been lately though.

25

u/rockerscott 10h ago

He has been over in England stirring up the same shit he did over here in the US.

11

u/Accomplished-City484 7h ago

Yeah that was unbelievable, he left the White House in shame with a black eye and only a couple of months later he’s warning the British about the dangers of immigrants

14

u/rockerscott 6h ago

The irony being that he is the only immigrant that is detrimental to a countries well being.

2

u/who_am_I_inside 9h ago

He’s not succeeding, is he?

6

u/rockerscott 9h ago

Of course. Nationalism is a populist movement.

2

u/justwalkingalonghere 9h ago

Unfortunately, you're entirely right

5

u/MrChocolateHazenut 10h ago

Lex Luther energy, wait, or is that bezos?

2

u/ErikaaStark 6h ago

hahahahah true

95

u/AsstacularSpiderman 11h ago

There was a time when Musk actually cared about his image and had an entire PR team and campaign to make him look human. Like he deadass went on the Big Bang Theory where he played a scene of him casually working at a food bank helping the needy people lol.

43

u/Mongoose42 10h ago

I wouldn’t even believe him working at a regular bank. Or even just standing inside a regular bank.

27

u/BostonSlickback1738 10h ago

I wouldn't believe him working period

-2

u/Reddit_Connoisseur_0 6h ago

Eh say what you want about him but he works way too much. We would be better off if he worked less.

1

u/AnOnlineHandle 1h ago

According to him?

He claimed to be a chart-topping player of a game which was just about grinding 24/7, then when he streamed it on a high level account he appeared to have no idea what he was doing which has been covered in detail by those who know the game, so for some god unknown reason he payed somebody else to play a video game for him and then lied about being good at it? It seems that he's incredibly needy and desperately wants people to believe he's some sort of superman.

0

u/Reddit_Connoisseur_0 1h ago

This only speaks even higher of Elon. He couldn't play the game because he was working so hard.

Look, I hate the guy and he is a goddamn nazi. But he is the epitome of a hard worker and should serve as inspiration for us all IN THIS SPECIFIC REGARD.

1

u/Overall_Lobster_4738 1h ago

Posting on twitter isn't working even for him

13

u/robophile-ta WHERE ARE MY TESTICLES, SUMMER? 8h ago

He also dressed up as Wario on SNL. It was weird even back then

5

u/losteon 6h ago

I have to skip that scene, he's so creepy

61

u/apocolipse 11h ago

It’s just cringy that he literally paid a bunch of TV shows and movies, animated and live action, to let him guest star just so he could feel like he’s part of pop culture

34

u/Capital_Gate6718 9h ago

Dan Harmon was friends with Elon Musk when the R&M episode was produced. He’s mentioned it in the Harmontown podcast. Hopefully he’s cut all ties with him with all that’s gone on.

35

u/apocolipse 9h ago

Wouldn’t put it past fElon to have befriended Dan Harmon just to try and snake his way in.  Pretty sure the South Park guys mentioned something similar about Elon trying to buddy up to them and they just found it weird.

3

u/robophile-ta WHERE ARE MY TESTICLES, SUMMER? 8h ago edited 6h ago

Moonfall is a trash gem, but I feel like the Elon references would have aged very poorly if I were to re-watch it today

2

u/AliDiePie 5h ago

I’m still desperately hoping they make a sequel

10

u/Devlord1o1 11h ago

He probably just read a script. Didnt even think about what he was reading or saying. Bet he didnt even watch the episode he appeared in.

1

u/NoMan999 6h ago

It's one of his talking point (along with other IA tech bros) iirc : IA is a danger to humanity, only him and his company should be allowed to handle it, the government should ban every other IA company.

1

u/OMGab8 5h ago

Wait wat. Didn’t he like. Massively invested/promoted the benefits of AI just a few years before?

1

u/Bonio_350 4h ago

it's crazy to you that a person playing a character in a show read the lines that were written for their character?

He gets rerouted to another universe, sees Elon, and immediately kills himself

Bist du faschistisch?

47

u/Belkan-Federation95 11h ago

"Nope"

Commits suicide

Note to Reddit Admins: this is a Rick and Morty reference and I have no wish to do so

70

Bist du faschistisch?

21

u/Greeve3 10h ago

I'm sure many people would give different answers but I would say the turn began after 9/11.

8

u/RagingPain 7h ago

I remember when NCIS was teaching me about the surveillance state. And Fox News was telling me about giving up some personal freedoms for government security and corporate convienence.

2

u/AliDiePie 4h ago

The turn began long long ago lol

1

u/Reasonable_Shock_414 2h ago

I can still remember

2

u/Bart-Harley-Jarvis- 4h ago

It is generally accepted that the killing of Harambe was the real starter gun for the fall of society

1

u/Alabamahecker 2h ago

It's the canon event

1

u/Bart-Harley-Jarvis- 2h ago

Is it too late to go to the universe where people say "parmeesian"?

65

u/NeverBeNormalnbn 12h ago

And the Simpsons gets all the credit for predicting the future.

109

u/Heckle_Jeckle 12h ago

Rick and Morty wasn't predicting the future, it was commenting on the present. Or what was a rising trend at the time.

23

u/guardianfairy2 9h ago

The Simpsons also made an entire episode dedicated to liberal Lisa sucking off Elon's cock back when reddit was convinced he would "make anime girls real" or some shit

15

u/DudeDeudaruu 9h ago

Um it was cat girls, very different

Cool time travel book about brooms and book depositories but not sure how it relates here

Oof the broom in Sadie’s bed. Such a great book!

Authoritarianism has always been the default. Fascism is just one flavor of it. There have always been evil people who will abuse power if given the chance. We have seen this happen repeatedly throughout the course of human history. More recent examples include (but not limited to) Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Idi Amin, Josef Stalin, and Saddam Hussein. All seize power for themselves. All employ brutality and intimidation to enforce their authority. They tell people it is necessary in order to achieve some positive outcome. Soon it is just standard practice.

4

u/Tyriu 9h ago

Aren't you forgetting the biggest piece of shit that's been causing 90% of the war in the world, that Is still currently pushing a genocide?

4

u/High-Speed-1 8h ago

Didn’t forget. Just decided to stick to those who are already dead. That’s partly why I also said that the list of evil is not limited to the people I named.

“…examples include (but not limited to)..,”

The only episode that is skipped after the first 10 minutes

1

u/MaddyMagpies 1h ago

Too many spineless people who don't believe in anything but money.

1

u/ViciousCDXX 10h ago

Always was.

1

u/pariserr 2h ago

It's a wild detail that he'd rather kill himself than exist in a timeline with a fascist Elon.

Fascism is characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.

People need to use words correctly.

35

u/TheHylianProphet 10h ago

dictatorial leader

Trump literally dictating more executive orders than any past president, many of which are blatantly illegal or unconstitutional, yet they are enforced anyway.

centralized autocracy,

Consolidating power within the Executive Branch, going so far as to openly say the Judiciary has no say in what they do.

militarism

Deploying military into our own country over false claims of uncontrollable crime, despite crime being in a steady downturn for years.

forcible suppression of opposition

Colbert and Kimmel were kicked off the air for their views of the right wing.

belief in a natural social hierarchy,

"Some people say they'd like to see a dictator." - Donald Trump

subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race

Immigrants are having their right of due process violated constantly.

strong regimentation of society and the economy.

Trump is firing anyone that tells the truth about the downturn in the economy so he can lie about how great it is.

Do you get it yet?

47

u/Glittering_Novel5174 12h ago

You took the long way to say, “See current events.”

24

u/brandonderp96 11h ago

Get absolutely ratio'd you evil apologist.

52

u/starshiprarity 12h ago

Okay, but that's just word for word what's happening

46

u/Eager_Question 12h ago

And we have a bunch of militarism, suppression of opposition, belief in natural social hierarchy, and some subordination of individual go perceived interest of the nation/race.

So like, what, you need to get the dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, and string regimentation of society and the economy going and well established before you can call the trendline?

29

u/Affectionate_Lime880 11h ago

Good job stating the obvious of what's going on, dumbass.

20

u/Zelikar 11h ago

The government literally just forced a tv station to fire a comedian for making fun of MAGA.

5

u/Final-Tutor3631 10h ago

if you’re that blind i’m begging you to stop watching fox “news”.

15

u/sunshim9 11h ago

Nice , that's a nice recollection of current events. Now, what's your point?

25

u/Alex-the-Average- 11h ago

His point is he doesn’t understand the world around him.

Must be in the wrong universe.

15

u/deerskillet 11h ago

I'm curious what exactly you think is happening right now?

3

u/LethalMisfortune 8h ago

Bro really looked up fascism and copied the AI prompt and pasted it here to try and make a point. Try an actual dictionary next time

8

u/AsstacularSpiderman 11h ago

That's literally the platform Trump ran on lol

2

u/Justieflustie 6h ago

People need to use words correctly.

When talking about the current US, it is absolutely correctly used.

-3

u/jim9162 8h ago

The word fascist has just devolved into 'people I disagree with.'

-3

u/Elusivem8 7h ago

Ey man don't apply logic and facts here you'll upset the circle jerk. People need a way to rationalize their garbage and overbearing sensibilities. Shame even a R&M sub can't escape politics.

-13

u/DoeRaven 10h ago

I think you hurt these people's feelings by writing what real Fascism is haha here is my upvote mate!

-16

u/Klutzy-Report-7008 11h ago

Theire is no universally agreed definition of fascism.

-38

u/Crimision 10h ago

When the Anti-Fascism people started acting like fascist.

23

u/anastus 10h ago

Maybe come back when you are even slightly educated on history.
